"You ready?" Iris said while Barry stood in front of the podium. The reporters clamored in quiet chatter amongst them self.
"I just feel hopeless, Iris..." he said softly then he turns to face her. She looks down for a moment then back at his eyes giving a gentle supportive smile "we're going to get her back Barry... we're going to fix this" he sighs once and then he clears his throat tapping the microphone twice.
The talking came to a stop and he inhales slowly "hello people of central city..." he gave a short nervous wave and one of the reporters pipes up "is it true that you aided and abetted the known criminal killer frost?" The reporters began to speak loudly around her and Barry sighs.
"No that's not-" he starts to say but another one cuts him off "so you didn't know she was a criminal?"
"Is it because you were sleeping with her?" A third one asked from the crowed and Barry puts his hands down "no! Caitlin is not a villain!" he yelled. They lowered their talking "she's not, okay?" He says in a softer tone
He glances to Iris who gives him a thumbs up " I just came on here to say that everything she did, stabbing the men was to escape the known criminal alexia Laroche..." the reporters started speaking loudly again and he puts his hands up for them to silence.
"It was self defense. Lexi had her hostage for days as she told me... she is not a villain... she's not a monster... she is..." he looks around the crowd taking a slow inhale "shes my family, okay... and I need her" he looks down at the podium then back out at the crowd.
Iris gave a slow sigh and she crosses her arms slowly across her chest. He really did love her didn't he? He never would've done anything like this for her. Sacrificed everything just so she wouldn't go to jail.
Barry clears his throat again "I'll be taking questions now.." the loud speaking starts up once more.
***
When Caitlin came to she was tied down to a table. Bright fluorescent blue lights were shining in her face and she could hear the gentle clink of a metal table. She pulls against the restraints on her wrists and legs, her cheeks flushing darkly as she realized she was exposed bare to the world.
"Oh good..." a woman with a cynical voice said "you're awake..." she turns around and Caitlin looks up to her eyes trying not to show how terrified she was.
"Who the hell are you?" She questioned.
The woman had dark hair which was tied into a bun and a serious expression on her face, she was holding what looked like a needle in her hand. "I'm Lillian luthor... but my identity doesn't matter... you're not from around here are you?"
Caitlin eyes The needle carefully and then she shakes her head "where exactly is here? Why am I naked?" Lillian glanced down at her body then she set the needle down and covers her with a paper blanket.
"There, do you feel more comfortable?" Caitlin looks her up and down confused " I'd feel more comfortable if I wasn't tied to a table..." she sighs heavily and closed her eyes tightly.
"You are in national city, where the shining girl of steel, supergirl lives and her alien cousin Superman" Lillian rolls her eyes disdainfully and she steps away from the table. Caitlin opens her eyes then she glanced at Lillian's back. So this was earth 38.... the less fun parts of it at least, she needed to find Kara.
"What are you doing to me?" Caitlin whispers now and then she looked around the room, looked like a lab of some sort.
"I'm trying to figure out how to make your frosty counter part appear... she seemed very angry before we sedated you" Lillian pressed the needle into Caitlin's shoulder earning a loud gasp "what's that!"
"Relax..." Lillian said and Caitlin felt her heart racing in her chest now. Not now, please not now.
"It's a shot of adrenaline" Lillian mumbles calmly. Caitlin gasped again before straining against the table once more "you don't know what you're doing!" Her voice was metallic and cold now.
Lillian smiles in awe "there you are..." she set the needle down and then she looks to the camera to make sure it was catching all of this on film to study later.
"now, my original thesis is: the burst of anger will cause this other side, the darker less intelligent, more viscous and aggressive side of you to come out."
"Ohhh you stupid bitch!" Killer frost said now. She pulls once at the restraints and she groans loudly letting the leather cuffs keep her wrists in check, they were starting to scratch into her skin but she kept fighting nevertheless. She needed to get to Barry.
"Relax, you're only hurting yourself" Lillian wisely comments then Caitlin looks at her before opening her fist and blasting her with a gust of Icy dust.
Lillian falls back against the table with a loud groan and Caitlin finally was able to break free of the cuffs.
She sat up and started working to untie the second one on her wrist.
"Guards!" Lillian yells and then two men came rushing into the room. "Take her to the box, it's ready for her" Lillian smiles slowly as they dragged Caitlin out of the room screaming and kicking.
