Date night fright

The next morning...

Barry paced back an forth quickly as he waited for Caitlin to enter the cortex. She had left his place before he woke so he had plenty of time to ready himself for the occasion.

He held a jar of pickles in one hand and balloons with Elsa and Anna in the other. He heard the distant ding of the elevator and he stopped pacing moving himself to the center of the room and smiling ear to ear. She was here!

He heard the steady tapping of her heel on the floor and he could feel the excitement bustling in his chest with each click.

He lets out a relieved laugh as she entered the cortex distracted by something in her purse. " hey Caitlin" He said his smile even wider.

She looks up and then she smiles softly her heart swelling with love " Barry..." she said warmly then she approached him and looked to the pickles "what's all of this for?"

He glanced at the pickles and then he shakes his head a little " Caitlin Vanessa snow..." she blushed a little taken back that he knew her middle name.

" will you do me the honor of going out on a date with me tonight?" She nods a little and then she gave a short laugh " yes... of course." He exhales heavily then he laughs handing her the pickles "you're favorite food and... terrifying balloons of Elsa ...from frozen" she looks at the balloon again while he laughed loudly.

" oh my god..." she whispers finally getting it. "Because ice is my power- god Barry maybe I'll change my mind if you're going to make jokes like that" he stops laughing then he stares at her wide eyed.

She couldn't help but chuckle a little at that now " I'm joking... relax.." she wraps her arms around his neck slowly then she leans in kissing him softly. He kisses her back his arms awkwardly holding her side since they both had something in them.

"Oh? Who's birthday is it?" Wally exclaims as he walked into the cortex with Jesse. Barry quickly pulled back from the kiss and he licks his bottom lip turning to face them now "um... nobody's..." Wally's face drops and he looks to Caitlin who was walking away slowly.

" so you're cheating on Iris? In the lab? Come on dude..." Wally let's Jesses hand go and then he steps closer. Barry handed the pickle jar and balloons to Caitlin " come on Wally it's not like that... me and Iris agreed we are going to split.."

Wally scoffs and he glanced at Caitlin " so what? As soon as you're done using my sister you move on to the first girl you see?" He said looking Barry up and down disgusted.

"Hey. It's none of your damn business!" Barry said louder now. Jesse clutched her stomach gently and Caitlin walks over to her " let's go get you checked out..." she mumbles to her. Jesse has originally come to be examined anyway, it'd been almost two months since the last check and that was apparently bad.

Wally scoffs again " do whatever you wanna do in private... but keep it out of the common area alright?"

"Whatever man.." Barry said to himself as Wally walked away frustrated. Caitlin looks to Barry sideways then she guides Jesse into the exam room quietly.

Later that night...

Barry looked around the pretty decent filled restaurant. His hand hesitantly moves up and fidgets with his shirt collar, he was wearing a black tux with a white button down shirt but no tie, that was a little to formal.

He finally saw her in the corner of the room, she looked stunning of course, she was wearing a maroon skinny strapped dress, it seemed to cut at her knees and she had let her naturally waved hair flow about her shoulders, she also wore a thin gold necklace around her neck. Barry barley remembered how to breathe when she waved him over.
