The last frontier

The next morning...

Barry lay in the guest bedroom on his back. He had the blanket covering his waist and some of his stomach, he sighs deeply through his nose as he heard the door creak open gently.

It was Caitlin checking in on him.

"good morning" Lena whispers from the hallway. "Morning" Caitlin whispers back then she speed walks away from the door "thanks for letting us crash here last night.. we'll be home in the morning, promise"

"It's fine, don't worry at all" Lena gives a tired smile and Caitlin sighs before sitting at the bar area" so I have kind of a personal question"

Caitlin nods thoughtfully then she props on her elbow watching as Lena began to make pancakes.

"How long have you been awake?"

Caitlin raised an eyebrow then she bites her lower lip before speaking "um.. a few hours?" She brushed her hair out of her face slowly then Lena glances at her for a second "nightmares?"

"No I uh.. I just couldn't sleep... this whole thing with Cadmus and your mother reminded me of this other crazy person.. Lexi and Christopher..." Caitlin chews her bottom lip thoughtfully then she heard the door creak in the hallway. She turns to face a stretching Barry.

Caitlin smiles a little and she stands up slowly "good morning" he smiles softly wrapping an arm around her waist in a small side hug then he kissed her head "you guys talking about me?"

Caitlin kissed his chest once then she nods and walks back to the table "Christopher, actually" his face drops then he looks at Caitlin's face examining it closely "what about him?"

She shakes her head once "Nothing.." she whispers then Barry sighs sharply and perked up when Lena turns back to the stove with a small smile

"I can't wait until I have this type of intoxicating love.." Barry looks to Caitlin with a small grin. "Someone to care about me endlessly.." she continued then Barry glanced to Caitlin for a second.

"Sooo..." he starts off and she smiles once "we never did get to finish our vacation?" She nods a little feeling his hands rubbing her shoulders in a massaging motion.

She inhaled slowly then she exhales and looks down at her lap "yeah what should we do ?"

"You guys have big belly burger on this earth?" He lets her shoulders go when Lena turns around with their food "yes... we do actually. That for lunch?" She double checks and then Caitlin nods before leaning forward with her fork.

"Maybe the pool after that?" Caitlin nods again and she looks up at him, he leans down pressing his lips to hers in a gentle kiss.

"How's phase two going?" Lillian asked while approaching the control table in the room. The man with dark red hair looks up at her then he motions to the camera with the metal tube, a sleeping person was floating in the tube. Lillian smiles widely "call general albatross ASAP!"

The redhead nods as she speed walks out of the room.

"So what were you and Lena talking about today?" Barry asked while Caitlin sat with their food. She gives a short sigh and she props on her elbows "nothing. I was just telling her that I couldn't sleep... my mind was awake... thinking about that night in the car..."

Barry looks down away from her gaze and she continued softly.

"His hands gripping mine...his weight on top of me.." she shakes her head once and Barry gently touched her wrist. Their eyes locked again and this time he held her gaze.
