"Leo..." a low whisper dragged me out of sleep on a Saturday morning. A whisper of a voice not so familiar to me so I kept my eyes closed because that maybe a burglar trying to rob my family. I don't wanna die!
Not now, not ever.
I'm going to meet Nel someday pa so there's no way on earth there is for me to die without meeting the love of my life.
"Leo..." another whisper. Papalapit ng papalapit yung boses so I assumed na he's just behind me or whatever. I'm on my side, spooning my human sized panda bear so there's space on my left he could be there. Pinikit ko nalang nang madiing madiin ang mata ko dahil yun lang yung tanging paraang alam ko kahit alam kong useless ito.
"Ate Leo!" biglang sigaw ng isang babae na may matinis na boses na kahit nakapikit ako'y alam kong nasa kama ko siya. Lintek akala ko kung ano na. Di pa ako nakakamulat ay agad akong dinambahan nito at niyakap nang mahigpit.
"I missed you ate Leo" napangiti naman ako nung marinig ko yun sa bibig ng batang nakayakap sakin ngayon. Ang lambing lambing naman kasi nitong si Patricia. Sobrang huggable pa. Bahagyang nawala yung kaba sa dibdib ko dahil sa pagyakap sakin ni Patricia. Humikab ako at nag-unat matapos niya akong yakapin.
"Ate Jimboy's downstairs, let's go" sabi ni Patricia. Jimmy and Patricia are siblings. Laking states kaya englishero't englishera.
Binuhat ko nalang si Patricia since she's just 5 years old, she wasn't that heavy. I kissed her forehead then binaba ko na ulit siya to check on my phone. I was about to unlock my phone when I heard Gabi's voice, shouting my name.
Argh. I hate having a brother annoying as him. Ganiyan lagi yung nangyayari tuwing uuwi ako or paalis ako even kahit walang klase. Alarm clock ko yung bunganga niya sa totoo lang. Di ko nga alam kung bakla ba to kaya ganito or ano.
"Wait ka lang dito baby Patricia ha? You can play with my phone while i get fixed here okay?" sabi ko kay Patricia which she nodded at. Kahit kailan napaka cute ng batang to. Sarap pisilin yung pisngi HAHAHA. Ang cute cute kasi.
Pagkabigay ko ng phone ko ay agad na naglaro ng kung anu-ano sa cellphone ko si Patricia. Having the opportunity of fixing myself, I took a warm relaxing bath pero nabitin ako sa pagkalampag ni Patricia sa pinto.
"Ate Leo. I wanna pee" sabi niya sa labas ng kwarto, natawa nalang ako sa pinagagagawa niya kasi kahit saang anggulo, ang ganda at cute niya parin. Mana sakin yung bata syempre.
Agad ko namang binuksan ang pinto after wearing my bathrobe with another towel that was fixed on my head perfectly. I guided her to the toilet para makajinggle siya. At syempre I washed her too. She's too young to handle life herself lalo na't may issue ang parents niya. Ang bata bata pa niya para maranasan lahat ng ito.
As far as I know, her parents are getting divorced. I just don't know why. Uncle Danny and Aunt Lily are sweet to each other, I actually admire them for being together since 7th grade and now they have their own family. Nakakalungkot lang na magdidivorce sila, I know the kids are going to have a hard time accepting it.
Matapos kong ayusin yung damit ni Patricia ay binuhat ko na siya at kinuha ko ang cellphone ko sa kaniya to check on my facebook but Gabi's voice is seriously dragging my attention away from my phone.
I sighed heavily and got dressed. I wore my comfy shorts, sando. The casual wear. Sa bahay lang naman kasi ako the whole day kasi walang pasok. It's saturday. My usual routine is to use social media, kaya nalabo yung mata ko haha. What can I do, ang saya saya magroleplay. You get to talk to a lot of people in one day without knowing their real identity. It's awesome. At rpw din ang dahilan kung bakit kinababaliwan ko si Nel Nicholas.
And here I am, obsessed with someone I don't know personally.
A lot of my friends told me to stay away from him. Oo, alam nilang inlove ako kay Nel Nicholas. Minsan ko ding nahuling iniistalk nila ito kaya nabibwisit ako. What if unahan nila ako sa kaniya? Masisiraan ako ng bait pag ganon.
"Let's go dooooown" Patricia said while pouting her lips. AaaaAccck so cute! Agad nalang akong ngumiti sa kaniya at kinuha yung cellphone ko bago siya buhatin.
"Ate Leo ano ba" rinig kong sigaw ni Gabi.
"Ito na nga oh, nandito na. Di makapaghintay" sigaw ko pabalik habang dahan dahan kong tinahak ang hagdanan sa takot na baka mahulog kami ni Patricia. Pagkababa ko ay iniupo ko si Patricia sa sofa with her brother Jimmy. Jimmy's 7 years old. He likes sponge bob a lot kaya there he is, watching sponge bob.
Pumunta nalang ako sa kusina at naabutan ko don si Gabi. Kumakain siya habang nakatayo. Eating peanut butter and bread. Favorite naming parehas ang peanut butter eh.
"Ang aga mo ah? Pasan ka?" tanong ko naman kay Gabi habang pinapalamanan ang napili kong bread slice. Matapos non ay tinignan ko siya mula ulo hanggang paa. Ngayon ko lang napansin na bihis na bihis siya, parang aakyat ng ligaw or something.
"May group study kami sa school" sabi niya na siyang kinakunot ng noo ko. Saturday? Well, anyways. Whatever his plan is, i don't care. As long as I have the whole house to myself, it will be fine.
"Group study huh? Well, alright then. I'll let you be" I said before walking straight to the refrigerator to search for some milk. I bet the kids haven't eaten yet so, I'll take care of them for now. Baka kasi bumalik sina Auntie Lily at Uncle Dan, kukunin din nila sila soon.
Aunt Lily can't stand being away from her kids, specially with the divorce thingy in her list. Poor Jimmy and Patricia. Ang bata pa nila masyado para maintindihan yun hays.
But one thing's for sure, if ever magkaanak ako in the future. It will never be broken apart.
