The knights gathered around the early lit fire, boasting about their battle scars and telling victorious stories of how they came to be.
Merlin, unbeknownst to them, was albeit uncomfortable. He went to collect fire wood, anything to get away from them for now. Not that he didn't like Arthur and the knights obviously, just not the scar stories they told.
As he came back his magic stirred. Something was wrong. It was too quiet, suddenly his face was covered as someone yanked off his shirt. And he was lifted up as someone was holding his arms and legs in a swinging motion. He could see the knights, Percival was holding his shirt and Arthur and Gwaine were the ones about to throw him into the water.
They all froze at the sight of his exposed scars.
Gwaine, the loud one, was the first to talk. "What the fuck!" He looked furious, ready to kill. "How the fuck did you get all these scars Merlin!?"
Merlin flinched at his voice. "S-saving Arthur. All the time, people want to kill him. And I stop them."
Arthur let out a loud, obnoxious laugh. "Y-you? S-saving m-me? How? By hiding behind a tree?"
Now Merlin was angry, seriously?How dare he?
"Oh yeah, remember Nimueh? Killed her. Remember the great Dragon? I sent him away! The doroca? Defeated them. When your dad married a troll? I HELPED YOU expose her!" Merlin then went on to point out his scars as he told the stories of how he got them. "This one? Nimueh. This one? From you Arthur, when you hit me with that mace in training!" He kept listing them on until he had no more scars left.
"Oh and not to forget that I did all this this just for you and all I got in return was the death of all my loved ones! My father, that you told me not to cry over! My best friend who lied for me! And you, you, you killed the girl I loved, Freya."
Merlin was puffed out just from ranting and the knights had already let him down, he just sat there, tired.
After all this Arthur only had one question? "But how, how could do all that? You're a servant for crying out loud!"
"BECUASE I HAVE MAGIC YOU OBLIVIOUS CLOTPOLE!"
