Weighs heavy on her shoulders
As her wings hang down from her back
All these broken fantasies
Replaced with haunting failures

To be haunted by the past
As her wings grow heavier on her back
Who knew life was so torrential
You think it would be pleasant
But this is not the case
Or at least
Not in heaven

You'd think it would be light
But it only grows heavier
Because no one tells her it's alright
The burden of an angel
Replacing problems with joy
She was helpful at first
But now she's just a toy
All these troubling fears
So many other emotions
Who knew being an angel
Would cause so much commotion
They're dragging the ground now
She doesn't have the energy
If only she could fly away
But she can't
She refuses to
She must help
Even if it means
Sacrificing herself
It's the burden of an Angel
And it hurts
And it's heavy
Wings ache
And they're dirty
She can't remember how long they've been gathering dust
They squeak
And groan
And gotten old
And rusted
But one day
And she knows it
The clouds will part
The sun will shine
Everything is fine, sweetheart
So stretch
And tremble
And hold them still
And stumble
It's the burden of an Angel
Take off
And it's hurting
Tears fall
So she doesn't
She's doing her best
And that's okay
Not 100%
But that's okay
Because no one has ever told her
