Chapter 1: Disappeared

(I'd like to dedicate this story to my cousin Jaidynn, Happy Birthday, love!) -*Bri

(Britt Nicole as Sara Marshal, picture above. If the pic isn't visible please let me know.)

Sara Marshal's POV:

I lay in bed as I listen to the faint sounds of music echo through out the long hallway. I know exactly where it's coming from, too. I sigh in irritation as I get up and walk down the hallway. The creaking of the wooden floor under my feet; a dead give away that I'm coming.

Sure enough, the music suddenly cuts off. Oh yeah, she knows I'm coming.

I open the door to see my thirteen year old niece laying in bed "asleep".

"Jaydenn, I told you to go to bed," I groan tiredly.

"I know, I just wanted to hear this last song," She replies.

I smile, remembering I used to say that to my mom when I was younger. I loved music and I still do; guess it runs in the family.

"Alright," I give in, "This last song, then go to bed. I love you."

"Fine. Love you too." She replies.

I turn and walk back down the hallway to my room.

Jaydenn Loveck is my niece. She's only living with me because her mother Amelia, my sister, passed away a year ago. Due to her fathers absence, I decided to take her in. Trust me when I say she didn't like me at first. I did come to visit her as she grew up, quite often actually, but due to the effect of her mothers passing, she wasn't fond of me. She's much better now, but I can still tell it gets to her at times.

She has school tomorrow, and I have work, so she needs to go to bed. I work as an officer, even though not much happens because of the small size of the country town.

I look at the clock, 10:27 P.M.

Yep, time to go to bed.

-----Next Morning-----

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I hate who ever created that God forsaken thing. I hit the button and sit up, waiting a good five minutes before actually getting up.

I walk to Jay's room and open the door to see her bundled up in the covers.

This is the highlight of my mornings.

I yank the covers off of her, "Time to get up!" I yell.

"No!" she complains dragging out the word as she blindly searches for the covers with her hand. I laugh pulling her to the end of the bed by her feet.

"You have school! Isn't it just wonderful?! Now get up, girly!" I holler. She finally sits up glaring at me.

"I'm up." She says wobbling to the bathroom.

"Finally." I grumble under my breath, laughing at her retreating figure.

I walk back to my room to prepare for work. I look into the mirror, and meet with my appearance. I'm about 5' feet 5' inches tall, I have dirty blonde hair that comes down to my shoulders in length, crystal ice blue eyes, and tanned skin. My sister is my exact twin, but Jaydenn and I look nothing alike. She has dark brown hair, almost black, that flows about five inches below her shoulders, beautiful forest green eyes, and is 5' feet 2' inches tall. She takes most of her fathers features. Once I'm finished with my morning preparations, I head to the kitchen to start breakfast.

Our house isn't anything special. Its not small but it's not big either. Just a simple two bedroom, two bathroom, country home.

Right when I finish making pancakes, Jay walks, well, more like stumbles, into the dining room. I laugh a little while she just glares at me. Once we finish breakfast, I put the dishes up and pick up my keys and wallet. I walk out to my black Mustang, Jay not far behind me.
