Chapter 7: Jaxon
Sara's POV:
I stare at the wolf in amazement. I stand up but don't move from my place. I see Jaydenn standing behind me, peeking around at the wolf. Drew looks at me cautiously, trying to read my reaction. I slowly walk up to him with Jay glued to my back, her hand tightly griping my upper arms.
I run my hand over his soft fur. I should be freaking out right now, but I'm not. Jay eventually relaxes and mimic's my actions.
"Believe us now?" Drew asks. I smile a little and nod, "You're the first person who hasn't ran screaming 'monster!'" He say's, throwing his arms up in the air and flailing them around.
Dean eventually shifts back and sits down and say's, "Now I know you have to have at least one question."
"Do you have anything to do with this? With whats going on?" I ask.
"I'm a part of it, yes. I'm supposed to be anyway. I stay out of it, though. And when I'm done explaining this to you Drew needs to explain some things too." Dean say's glaring at him.
Drew puts his hands up in surrender.
"I want to know whats going on." I repeat for about the twentieth time.
He sighs in defeat and reply's, "It's a war. A war is breaking out."
I look up and down the street, then back at him, "With who exactly?"
"The wolves. They're fighting. This is supposed to be the biggest battle. Well, all we ever do is have a battle, but we never have a full blown war like this. My father is the Alpha of the East Ridge Pack. The other pack is the West Mountain Pack. There used to be multiple packs all around the world, but all of that changed when the Elders decided to group us into one. The wolves rebelled because some of us believe differently. So they decided on two.
"This caused major problems because the packs came to a disagreement. With what, I don't know. I left before I knew. All of the humans are gone because they would interfere with the battle."
"Why did you leave?" I ask.
"My father and I never got along in the first place, so it simply made the situation worse. But anyway, my mother, the Luna was killed years ago during a rouge attack. Because we have no Luna, he can't lead us into war. So, he decided my Mate and I would lead. But I... I never found my Mate. So I was disowned. Drew is supposed to be leading us believe it or not, so why is he here, I don't know that either." He finishes the last sentence off with a glare towards Drew.
"What's a Mate, or a Luna?" I ask.
"A Mate is like your soul-mate. Your destined to be husband or wife I guess you could say. They have a rare scent only you can smell. This is kinda cheesy, but when you touch them you feel sparks. They're supposed to be the only person you can truly love; your other half. And a Luna is like an Alpha, but she is the female leader of the pack. The Alpha's Mate." He reply's.
Dean basically tells me everything about werewolves. Like the mind-link, where you can communicate with your mind. Rouges and Lone Wolves. Rouges are basically evil werewolves. Lone wolves are wolves that went out on their own because they never found their Mates. And a lot of other stuff.
"If all of the humans are gone, then why are we still here?" I ask my final question.
He looks at me, then to Jay, "I don't know. That's why I'm trying to protect you."
I just nod my head. I knew he was hiding something, but who knew it was that big of a deal. Turns out that symbol on his neck symbolized his pack; thank God he told me because I was dying to know what that meant.
"So Drew, why are you here?" He asks, turning to Drew.
He laugh's nervously and reply's, "What? Can't come see my best buddy?" Dean rolls his eyes and say's, "I'm serious."
Drew sighs and say's, "Well, I turned twenty-one a few days ago, which you forgot." He glares at Dean, "Anyway, I never found my Mate. So, I was kicked to the curb. I had nothing better to do so I thought I'd come find you."
"If your not leading, then who is?" Dean asks with caution.
"Some guy named Jaxon." Drew replies, shrugging his shoulders as if the loss of position meant nothing to him.
"Jaxon?! Jaxon was a Rouge!" Dean yells, standing up. Drew stands up as well, "Well apparently 'Jaxon has good battle strategy.'" He reply's, making his voice deeper at the end, mocking someones words.
"He'll lead the Pack to their death!" Dean yells.
"That's what Aplha Xander said about me!" Drew scoffed. Sorry Drew, but I can't argue with that.
Dean just growls in frustration and stomps into the store.
"So, how's hotel Le Walmart?" Drew asks in a French accent, dramatically flicking his wrist to the side like a girl.
"Cinq etoiles, mais bientot a zero. Si vous marchez a I'interieur, il sera probablement bruler. Vous semblez tres sujets aux accidents." I reply in French. He stares dumbfounded. I just laugh and walk inside.
"What did you say?" Jay asks.
"I said, 'Five stars, but soon to be zero. If you walk inside it will probably burn down, you seem very accident prone.'" I reply.
She laugh's a little. I see Dean sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. I push Jay towards Drew and tell her to stay with him. I walk up and sit beside Dean. I lean my head on his shoulder only to jerk my head back.
I rub my face a little.
"What?" Dean asks.
"You shocked me." I reply.
"I meant what do you want." He repeats.
I shrug my shoulders although he can't see me since he never lifted his head. I lean on him again and feel sparks, but much lighter this time. I slowly start to doze off. Dean leans back and wraps an arm around me. I let sleep consume me.
-----Next Morning, 6:27A.M.-----
I'm jerked from my sleep when a scream erupts in the building.
Jaydenn.
