Chapter 5: Intruder

Sara's POV:

I continue to watch as the big dog sits in Dean's lap, although he didn't really fit, as Dean continues to pet his head. I'm sitting on my bed, staring at the symbol on Dean's chest without noticing it.

Jay begins to wave a hand in front of my face. I look up to see that she had followed my gaze. She has a sly grin on her face, even though she's oblivious that shes got the wrong idea. I swear it's this girls over all dream to embarrass me.

"Oooh!" she yells, "you were look-" I didn't give her a chance to finish, I grab her by her shoulder pulling her down to my level and put her in a head lock.

"Keep talking and see what happens, child!" I playfully threaten her, laughing in the process. She laughs as she struggles in my grip, "Okay! Okay! I wont!" she yells. "Promise?" I ask. "Yes, I promise!"

I let her go to see Dean watching in amusement. Jay walks over to Dean and starts petting Zeus. I decide to call it a night and lay down for some much needed rest. My last thought was about the symbol.

-----Morning, 9:26 A.M.-----

I slowly open my eyes and see the sun is already up outside. I'm the first one up, too. I look up and see the six ceiling lights we always leave on are no longer running. Looks like the power finally went out. Just great.

I sit up on one of my pillows and my mind wonders back to the symbol on Dean's chest. I get up and walk to Dean's room, slowly opening the secure yet flimsy card board door. I stand beside him to get a better look at the symbol. Yep, exactly like the others. I see Zeus on the bed beside Dean, staring at me closely. I guess he doesn't trust anyone around his owner. He's a good dog.

I walk back to my "room" and change into a grey shirt, brown leather jacket, a pair of boot cut blue jeans, and black military style combat boots. I walk to the so-called living room and see Zeus sniffing the air and cautiously taking steps forward. His body language is rigid, so I pull my gun out of my belt and point it forward, sure enough he starts growling. He's like a walking intruder alarm. A big one, too.

"Zeus," I whisper, "Quiet," He stays silent and moves right by my side. Dean walks sleepily behind me and his eyes widen when he see's my stance. He looks around with his nose in the air, which is weird if you ask me, and his eyes stay on one spot where the now empty gun display is.

Then I remember, we're on the other side of the store. "Go get Jaydenn!" Dean commands in a whisper, taking my gun and walking forward. I hesitate on leaving him but decide to go. I run to Jaydenn's room and pull her out of bed. I put my finger against my lips, signaling her to keep quiet, and she nods her head in response, now wide awake.

I put Jaydenn behind me and continue to walk forward, grabbing another gun on the way, to where Dean was. I stand behind him and point my gun at them. They stare for a minute, they look like two deer caught in the head lights. They had been going through our stuff, trying to find something. Then I see it, the same symbol is tattooed on them just like Dean has. There's two of them, one with green eyes, one with brown.

"Dean!" The one with green eyes shouts.

Dean looks at him as if silently warning him to shut his mouth.

"Leave and don't come back. I don't care who you are. Next time I see you, or any of them, I won't ask questions first," Dean snaps coldly. The green eyed man looks hurt, even a little offended, but slowly backs up with his hands up in surrender. Dean follows them out of  the back door to confirm that they leave.

What on earth just happened?!

"How did they know you?" I ask Dean as we walk back to the pharmacy.

"I don't know," He says... Liar.

I grab his arm, forcing him to stop and look at me. I'm tired of being ignored. "You listen to me, I've let you get away with ignoring me long enough! Quit shoving me in the dark and tell me what the hell is going on! And don't you dare try to lie to me!" By the time I'm finished with my mini rant, I have my finger pointing at him and I'm in his face, and although I'm on my tippy-toes, he still looks down on me.

'Bigfoot.' I think to myself.

He sighs and rubs his hand on the back of his neck, "We're at war." He says, walking towards the front entrance.

"What war? Why?! That's not a lot of information!" I yell at his retreating figure, still standing at the pharmacy.

He continues to walk through the double doors with Zeus trailing him.

"Jerk." I mutter, letting out a huff of frustration.

I turn to Jaydenn, "Stay here, yell if you need anything. I need to talk to him," she nods and sits on the couch, grabbing a book.

He's going to talk, even if I have to weasel it out of him.
