Chapter 3: Mean No Harm

(Jensen Ackles as Dean Aragon, picture above. If the pic isn't visible please let me know.)

Sara's POV:

Jaydenn ran inside behind the doors to where only Dean and I can see her. I push myself slightly to the right of Dean so I could see around him since I couldn't see over his shoulder. I swear this man is related to Bigfoot.

One man looks to be in his thirties, with black hair, a scar on his chin, and his eyes were... gold. So is the other mans. The other man has blonde hair and looks to be in his twenties. They're pretty tall but not as tall as Dean. Blondie has a knife in his hand while the other one has nothing. Are these guys stupid?

Once they're a good ten feet away the blonde man stops, but the older man keeps walking. The blonde reaches out and grabs his arm to stop him. "They're not them," say's the blonde. "They mean no harm. They're not-"

"Shut up!" The older man interrupts him giving him a harsh glare.

They're not what? What exactly are we supposed to be? The older mans threatening look drops. He looks back at Dean as if he's crazy. Then he looks plain confused. He glances at the blonde with questioning eyes. Blondie just shrugs his shoulders, putting his knife back in his belt. The I see it. A tattoo of an odd symbol, printed on both of their necks. The tattoo had to be no bigger than a silver dollar. Dean still has his gun pointed at the older man.

"What do you want?" Dean asks.

"We don't want anything, it was a misunderstanding of identity. Now if you don't mind, we will be on our way," Say's the blonde as he turns around to walk away as if he didn't just threaten our lives. The older man looks as if he doesn't quite know what to do.

"You heard your friend, get out of here!" Dean yells, I could tell his temper was rising. He still studied us as if he had never seen another person before. Then he looked around us, at Jaydenn who was cautiously looking through the glass of the doors. His expression hardens. The blonde stops walking and looks back at Jaydenn as well, his expression going cold.

'Alright, too far.' I growl to myself.

Dean was about to say something, but I shove him and shoot right beside the older man's foot, making him jump away. "Get your a** out of here!" I yell out, warning him one last time. He's not about to mess with Jaydenn. He takes one last glance and walks away. I watch until they're out of sight.

Dean sighs and walks back inside. Once we get inside, I follow Dean as he walks into the main office. I watch as he pushes some buttons and all of the doors are now locked.

He keeps looking around the office for who knows what, so I decided to check on Jay. She's sitting on her bed, so I take a seat next to her.

"What do they want?" She asks.

"I don't know, but they said we meant no harm and decided to leave us alone. Dean locked all of the doors so no one can get in, so don't worry. Also, don't go outside without me, okay?" I respond.

"Okay, but what if they break the glass?" She asked.

"If they break it, then we will hear it. Try not to think on it too much, Jay. Now get some sleep, it's almost one in the morning. I love you." I reassure her as I kiss her forehead and stand up.

"Love you too," She say's laying down.

I walk back to the office and see Dean sitting in the office chair, going through drawers.

"You know it's not nice to go through other peoples stuff?" I ask.

He just absentmindedly smiles with no answer. "What are you looking for, anyways?" I ask.

"Any thing that can be useful, like this," He say's holding up a map and a compass. "Like you said, the lights are going to go out soon. And from the look of their bill's that are on file, they go out in a week. When the food goes bad, we will have to pick up and move, or at least go find some, and this will be the only access to a map that we'll have."

He's right; he's smarter than I thought he was.

"Good thinking, but I don't want to think about that right now, it's beyond late. We should get some sleep," I reply.

He nod's his head, "Your right..." he pauses for a minute "I knew about them, I just didn't want to worry you. I didn't have any weapons at the time I ran into them. They chased me but I lost them after a few minutes of running. I would have fought but I don't want to go against five men with knives. They had golden eyes like them. The two men from earlier weren't there though."

Five men? How many are there?

"I knew something had happened, something you weren't telling me. I just didn't know what it was... Now come on, we need to get some sleep," I repeat.

He nod's and gets up to follow behind me. I pick my desirable spot lay down on one of the bed's. This has got to be the longest day of my life.

-----

Next morning:

I wake up at around 10:30A.M. I look to my right at Dean's bed and see that he's gone. I push myself up and go to the clothes rack. I get a blue shirt and a pair of blue boot cut jeans. After I change, I get a pair of plain black combat boots off of the shelf, and after checking the size, I put them on. While walking around looking for Dean, I see a hair brush on the shelf and rip it out of the package, deciding to use it.

After failing to find him, I decide to just walk back to the pharmacy, and of course, he's there. He was looking at the isle's next to the pharmacy, but I'm not sure why. He's already changed into a pair of blue jeans and a white shirt.

"What are you looking for?" I ask

"Nothing. You know if we get some of those big boxes out of storage, and stack them at then end of the isle's we can make rooms. You know, for privacy." He replies.

"That's not a bad idea, considering we have to stay here anyway," I reply. I hear Jay coming, and sure enough, there she is standing at the end of the isle.

"Jay! You're just in time to help us move boxes! Now come on!" I shout, faking my excitement. She just groans and reluctantly follows us.

Hours later and we've pretty much made a house around the pharmacy. There's three bedrooms, which all have bed's, dresser's, end-tables, and candles in them. Jaydenn even put on cardboard doors which are attached with duck tape. We moved in a couch from the furniture display and put some end-table's beside it. I also put a box of books beside the couch considering there is nothing else to do. I guess it's not that bad for living in Walmart. I placed candles, with lighters beside them, pretty much everywhere for when the power goes out. They had a kerosene heater in the storage room, with enough kerosene to last at least two weeks.

We all sit down and I glance at the clock, 4:21PM. I was about to get a book when we hear a loud explosion outside... just what we needed.
