Chapter 6: Idiot Brother
Dean's POV:
(Duncan Phillips as Drew Daniels, picture above. If the pic isn't visible, please let me know.)
I sit on the lawn chair outside with Zeus at my feet. I do want to tell Sara whats going on, but if I do, I know she will run from me. Either that or send me packing, one of the two.
'You should tell her' My wolf, Titus, complains to me through our mind link.
'She'll freak if I tell her! How do I tell a human I'm a Wolf?! And not only that, our Pack is at war!' I snap at him.
'Your already making her freak! Your hiding information from her, your angering our Mate!' He yells back, growling at me.
'Fine! I'll tell her! But I won't tell her she's our Mate!' I respond.
He doesn't like the idea, but huffs, and doesn't protest. Just on time, Sara walks through the door sitting down beside me. Wait for it...
"Spill it," She commands. There it is.
"As long as you promise you won't leave," I demand, standing from my chair and turning to her. I don't want my Mate to leave me.
She hesitates with an uneasy expression on her face. She nods her head, "I promise."
Just as I'm about to let it all out, I hear someone yell, "Dean! Your alive!" The man's scent hits my nose before I even turn around. Drew.
I decide to brace myself for the usual impact. Sure enough, Drew jumps on me, pulling me down with him. "Get off of me you fat idiot!" I yell, yet still laughing, shoving him off of me. Drew's my best friend; hell, he's basically my brother. When I was still in the Pack, we were together all of the time. He wanted to stay and I wasn't going to ask him to leave with me.
He stands up, and as soon as I'm up, I'm locked in a tight bear hug, trapped in Drew's arms. "I thought you were dead!" He yells over hysterically. Did I mention he can really get on my nerves? Jay comes outside and stares at us like we grew two heads.
Finally letting go, he looks at Sara and say's, "You replaced me!" Putting his hand on his heart faking hurt. Drew has always been over dramatic. He stands about 6' feet 2' inches tall, and has a lot of muscle considering he was a Pack Warrior. He has dirty blonde hair, which is usually spiked up with gel, but because he's been out in the woods, it looks like he has bed head. He has chocolate brown eyes, and is wearing a black muscle shirt, white dirt covered pants, and black combat boots.
"No I didn't. Drew, this is Sara and Jaydenn. Sara, Jaydenn, this is my idiot of a friend, Drew," I say.
"Gee buddy, thanks for the formal introduction," He says, extending his hand for Sara to take. After shaking both Sara and Jaydenn's hands, Sara turns to me and say's "Don't think you've gotten out of the dog house."
"Well, now that Drew's here, I can explain it even better," I say.
"Drew does what now?" Drew asks, standing up from petting Zeus.
I point at Jaydenn referring to the fact that she might want to make her leave. "She can stay," Sara say's, sitting back down. I sit down and Jaydenn sits on Sara's lap because there's not a third chair. Drew being Drew, he tries to sit in my lap, but I shove him off laughing. "Jerk." He mutters, sitting on the ground beside Zeus. "You still have the horse you call a dog!" He yells, enjoying Zeus' company. I just roll my eyes. I swear he's a child trapped in a mans body.
I turn to Sara. "Well... we're Wolves, Drew and I both," I sit patiently waiting for her reaction. She and Jaydenn both burst out laughing. As soon as they're through Sara say's, "Yeah, okay, and were painted smurfs. Now seriously, tell me the truth."
Drew and I both turn serious, and that's saying something for Drew.
"I'm not kidding." I say, getting up and shifting, my clothes shifting with me. I stand seven feet tall, with solid white fur. She cautiously stands up.
I told her I wasn't kidding.
