when the shadows of death dawn upon you
and you feel her wings gently caress your face
do not run
there is nowhere left to hide
do not fight
this is not a war you will win
do not despair
there is no time for sadness
feel pride for living
in a world where most simply exist
you have touched the constellations and you have uncovered the secrets of the stars. you have crushed mountains and you have crossed oceans. you have loved a love deeper than the pacific and you have made art with your messy fingers, worn brushes and golden heart. you have created masterpieces which you deem messes and you have created wonders which you deem wrecks.
you have taught me how to be human more than you have taught me how to be a man and have whispered secrets in my ear which was where it all began. you have brought me the sun when i jokingly (and hesitantly) asked you to and you showed me how good vulnerability felt like. you have taught me love beyond love and you have taught me the surprisingly strong yet grounding feeling of hate. you have taught me how to fight with my eyes closed and you taught me how to be victorious while doing so.
hercules pales in comparison to you but perhaps, i'm a little biased that way.
i love you and never have i stopped
the sun could quit shining and i'd
still be just as far gone. no amount
of medicine can soothe the feverish
pain in my heart, will you promise
not to let go till death to do us part?
