dear you,
everything about you is fake
your laugh which was once music to my ears
sounds like a recording which has been played
one too many times.
your smile
which was once a bright ray of sunshine
now seems unpleasantly plastered on your face
permanent, immutable and eternal.
your dreams
which were yours
now belong to them
(you naive girl, you gave it to them expecting much more than you bargained for
and expectantly, they destroyed it
but, i do not blame you)
your poetry
which was once full of love
has been edited to their likes
it has lost its rainbow
(but then again, i don't blame you)
i changed for myself, i chose this
how dare you lie
my heart said
you might be able to trick your mind
but you will never be able to fool your heart
you changed for them
you did it for them
them who don't even remember your name
(them who will come your funeral just to wipe a few tears and then leave like it never happened)
what happened to you?
how do i fix this?
why would you want to fix something that has no hope of returning?
i asked my heart
because
i see a silver lining
in the midst of this darkness
let me help you
please, let me help you.
