~Mae's POV~
I woke up by the sound of my alarm clock at 9:30 in the morning. I got out of bed, went straight to the bathroom and did my bathroom routine. I put on printed capris leggings, a baseball tee with an anchor in the middle and a Vans slip on shoes. I also have my straight hair down because Matt and I are going to the mall again to buy him sports equipment that he needed. I didn't wear any make up because when I tried it one time, I seriously looked like a clown.
We both agreed to go to the mall at 11. I was just about to text him but I realized that he doesn't have a phone, his parents won't let him buy one, so today I think I'm gonna buy him a phone. I went downstairs as to find out that it's already 10:40. I grabbed an apple and strawberries for breakfast. I don't really eat too much at breakfast at weekends. I'm just not craving too much food in weekends.
I sat down at the couch in the living room and put the show The Simpsons on the TV while I wait for Matt to get here. The episode of the show finished and it's already 11:20 but Matt hasn't come yet. He probably forgot. I turned off the TV, grabbed the house key, my wallet and my phone and walked straight to Matt's house. As I finally reach their house, Matt came out of the door.
"Hey," I said, as I run towards him.
"Hey," he said back. "I'm sorry, I woke up late."
"That's alright," I replied. I looked at his hazel eyes and they were puffy red and I can see some sadness and worries in there.
We got inside the truck that we rode yesterday and I couldn't stop looking at the sad Matt. He always seems happy this past few days, I never saw him get sad again after Madison bullied him.
"Is there something bothering you Matt?" I asked, with a puzzled look.
He turned around to look at me with his sad face and turned back around to the rode.
"My parents were fighting last night and I couldn't sleep through it," he replied.
"What about?" I asked again.
"I don't know," he replied, shrugging his shoulders.
I nodded and after that there was an awkward silence. So, I decided to turn on the radio and hum along with the song that plays through the speaker.
After the 10 minutes silent drive, we finally reached the mall and Matt got his energy back. He came out of the truck excitedly and while I was unbuckling my seatbelt, he opens the door for me. Being a gentleman he is. He grabbed my hand and pulled me inside the mall. He led me to the Build-A-Bear Workshop and entered it to see kids making their own teddy bears. We went straight to the cashier and the cashier guy handed Matt a huge bag, he handed the bag to me, I opened it to see 2 teddy bears in the bag. One bear is a human size teddy bear and the other one is a normal size teddy bear. I thanked Matt, hugged him tight and he hugged back.
We head outside the store to see a really sad boy looking through the window of the workshop. I grabbed the normal size teddy bear out of the bag, Matt gave me a confused look and I just smiled at him. I made my way up to the kid but now his walking out with his mom.
"Excuse me," I said, behind them.
They turned around and I saw that the little boy is now crying.
"I saw your kid looking through the window of the teddy bear shop," I said to the mom. "And I was thinking if maybe he could have this."
I pulled the bear away from my back, so they could see. And when I did the boy put on a smile.
"You don't have too," his mom said, shyly.
