Chapter 14

~Mae's POV~

Before we could arrive at the house of the kid that I'm babysitting till tonight, I decided to stop by at the store. I unfastened my seatbelt as fast as I could and opened the door before Matt could open it for me. I jumped out of the truck and Matt is standing in front of the car with a frown on his face. I walked towards him and peck him on his cheek. When I moved away, a smile appears on his face and he grabbed both of my hands to entwine them.

"Why can't I just open the door for you?" he complained.

"Because for me, opening the door for a girl is the least gentleman that a guy can do," I smiled. "Making me feel better and staying or protecting me from angry parents is the best thing that a gentleman can do for me."

He let out a little chuckle and he led me inside the store. We were greeted by the cashier saying hello to us and we said hi back. We grabbed a cart and head to the snacks section. We grabbed some granola bar, chips, pretzels covered of chocolates, cheese cubes, and the ingredients of smoothies, cookies, and muffins. Matt went to the other section to grab the Pop Tarts ingredients while I went to grab strawberries and milk. While I was walking down after I grabbed the milk, I again bumped into a body behind me. What's with me and bumping people today? I fell down on my face and some of the groceries fell down on the floor.

"I am truly sorry," the person said, over and over again.

The guy offered me his hands and I accepted it and I got up on my feet.

"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking at my surroundings," he said once again and he kneeled down to grab my groceries.

I also kneeled down to help him pick up my groceries. I grabbed the granola bar box and so did he. Our hands brushed to each other. I looked up to him and my eyes met his gorgeous light blue eyes that I almost got lost. He didn't let go holding the back of my hands and neither did I, instead we both continued looking at each other's eyes. I finally snapped out of it and grabbed the box and stood up, and he did the same thing.

"I'm so sorry for bumping in to you," he said again, looking really worried.

"It's alright. You don't have to worry about it," I smiled.

I investigate his body parts and he has a built up biceps, his face looks really attractive and cute, his blue eyes are those kinds of eyes that you can get lost very easily and he is about 6 feet tall.

"I'm Nash," he said, snapping me out of the thoughts about him.

"I'm Mae," I replied. He pulled his hands out of his pockets and offered me for a shake.

"A gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl," he said then winked at me.

"Thanks," I smiled as my face burned from, blushing?

"Hey babe," I heard someone said behind me.

I turned around to see Matt walking towards us. I turned back around to look at Nash and he has a shock look on his face but I just smiled at him. Matt finally reached my spot and he put his hands around my waist and kissed me on my cheek. I can tell that Matt is again jealous because I can feel the tense that he is having inside of him.

"You have a boyfriend?" Nash asked, still looking shock.

"We're just friends," I trailed off. "With a little of benefits."

I looked up to Matt but his already staring down at me. He winked and I rolled my eyes with a smile on my face. I turned my attention to Nash and said, "We have to go."

"Oh please, can I pay for your groceries," he asked but more like begging.

"You don't have to," I replied to him, but his giving Matt a death glare.

"Please let me do it. I bumped in to you," he begged again and started pulling my cart.

I joined walking besides him and so did Matt who still has his arm around me. I looked at Matt's free hand and it was clenched, real hard. We finally reached the counter and Nash paid for it all. I thanked him, he made me hug him and he slipped something on my shorts back pocket. I pulled away and thanked him again. I turned around to see Matt carrying all the shopping bags. We walked outside the store and Matt put the bags at the back seat. I opened the door for myself and Matt opened the driver's seat for himself. He started driving and for the first time in a week, the awkward silence took over the entire truck.

"Matt, you got to stop being jealous," I said, breaking the silence between us.

"Mae, I can't help it ok?" he yelled.

"Well you should stop because WE'RE FRIENDS WITH A BIT OF BENEFITS," I said, looking straight at the road.

"Yeah, when did you decided that?" he asked, looking at me then back to the road.

"Well, we almost did the dirty thing before we left so," I grinned.

We finally reached the driveway of their house. We both got out of the truck and grab the grocery bags that we bought. I knocked on their front door with my free hand and we waited for a long minute for someone to open it.

"Mae," a heard a little girl said. She runs towards me and I pulled her to a hug.

"Hi Abby, how was Mexico?" I asked, as she pulled away.

"It was awesome!" she yelled. "I get to ride dolphins and it was so amazing!"

"That is so cool," I grinned.

Abby's mom, Amy, appeared at the front door, we greeted each other and she led us inside their house. Matt and I put the groceries on their kitchen and then we sat down at the couch that they have in the living room.

"So, who's this fella?" she asked, smiling towards Matt.

"This is Matt. Matt this is Abby's mom, Amy," I introduced. They shook hands and I continued talking. "Matt will be helping me babysit Abby tonight."

"Awesome," she smiled then she stood up. "Well, I have to go. Emergency numbers are on the refrigerator and yeah that's it, I trust you. Take care and have fun."

She walked towards Abby and hugged her. She said something to Abby but I couldn't hear what she's saying. We said our goodbye's to her and with that she left the house. Abby started running excitedly across the house and grabbed the Nikon camera that they bring to their trip to take pictures.

She handed me the camera and I inserted the USB from the camera to their TV. We all sat down in the middle of the floor and pressed the play button as I put the pictures in a slideshow. Abby sat on my lap while Matt is sitting right next to me. He put his arms around my waist and I rested my head on his shoulder while we talked and laugh about what they did.
