~Mae's POV~
I suddenly woke up by the shouting that is coming down from the stairs. I opened my eyes and noticed that I'm not in our blanket fort anymore. Instead, I woke up in my bedroom and I'm not around Matt's arms. The shouting kept going on and kept getting louder and louder. The shouting sounded really familiar to me.
I stood up from my bed and walked outside my room. The shouting sounded horrible in my ear and I think they're going to bleed. I quietly walked down the stairs and sneakily walked towards the living room. No one's there. The shouting kept going and louder as I walked slyly in the kitchen. I kept myself out of sight behind the kitchen wall but could see everything in front of me. I could see my parents in there. I could see Matt, hurting.
"You don't deserve my daughter," my dad shouted at Matt. "You deserve to die."
And with that, my dad punched Matt in the stomach, making him fall and banged his head on the edge of the counter and to the floor. My mom tried stopping dad, but he didn't listen. Instead, he punched her in the jawline. And fell on the floor beside Matt, both unconscious.
Tears rolled down my eyes as I ran to the kitchen. I collapsed between mom and Matt. I gave a death stare to my dad.
"What the fuck are you doing with them?" I shouted in front of his face.
"Don't use that word, honey," he replied, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Don't pretend that you care about me," I shouted again, pushing his hand away from my shoulder. "Why are you hurting them? You made a vow at you and mom's wedding that you'll never hurt mom and me. You said that you'll love us no matter how hard things get. You told me that you'll like the guy that I will love. You're not doing them all right now. You're breaking everything that you promised us before. Why are you doing this to them? They don't deserve this. In fact, you deserve this."
"What? You care about them now?" he asked, calmly, laughing slightly.
"I've always care about them," I replied, getting angrier every second that I looked at him.
"Stop pretending that you've always cared about them, especially Matt," he laughed.
Bloods streaming through my veins have been boiling since I came here. I didn't even care if he's my father anymore. I just wanted him to be gone. Gone and never be seen ever again. He's been hurting two of the people that I cared the most. It's alright if his punching me or kicking me but no. He have to hurt mom and Matt and now he's gone too far.
I angrily walked towards him, with my fists clenched. He gave me a confuse looked yet confident. I quickly got in my position and I got him a surprise by jab punching him. He collapsed on the floor, banging his head hard at the floor tiles. He lied there unconscious but I know he'll wake up soon.
I ran towards mom and Matt. I shook them uncontrollably. They're still alive. They're still breathing, and they still have a beating of their pulse. There's nothing to worry about. They just needed time of rest right now and they'll wake up soon. I took deep breathes and sobs escaped my mouth.
A strong grip of a hand came around my neck and gripped it harder. He pushed me backwards and to a chair. I groaned and tried to breath but there's no escape. Darkness started to get around the room and I suddenly felt freedom. A loud breathing fleed my mouth but my hands were behind the chair. I started to get off but he began tying a tight rope around my wrist. He walked in front of me with another rope in his hands. I began kicking him as he got closer to my feet. But he didn't gave up, I did. I lost all my energy. He got the chance to tied me with all his energy he got left in him.
