Chapter 18

~Matt's POV~

As soon as we entered the café to eat lunch, we were greeted by a girl waiter about my age. She looks pretty hot but not as hot as Mae though. But let me just say, she is really attractive. When I was talking to her while Kristen and Mae were in the bathroom, she sounds really nice and sweet and her name is Cynthia.

Her laugh was so contagious and so as her smile. She has long blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen and she looks really sexy on her work uniform. I couldn't stop looking at her, she's just so perfect. But she doesn't know who I really am. She doesn't know that I was a nerd a week ago. Or maybe she does. Maybe she goes to our school.

When Kristen and Mae got out of the bathroom, Mae pushed Cynthia out of her seat and she fell on her face. I helped her stood up and she stood up on her feet. She mumbled a thank you to me and she walked away from our table. I gave Mae an evil look as she just gave me an innocent smile. I can't believe she just did that to Cynthia. She's so sweet and Mae shouldn't have done that to her.

In fact, Mae's the one who needed to be pushed. She's been rolling her eyes lately and she always gives Cynthia disgust and death glares. I don't like it. She's so snobbish right now.

I followed the direction where she was looking through the window and just my luck, Nash and one of his friends just came out of the parking lot. Just great.

Right now, Mae and I were looking for a spot to park the truck for school. The whole ride was quiet which is so uncomfortable. She's always on her phone texting somebody and when I glanced at her, she was smiling and blushing, like crazy.

I finally parked the truck and we both got out. We were walking together and all I want to do right now is hold her hand. But she probably wouldn't let me do that. She's mad at me, but well that's what I think. Better try it and found out than not trying it at all and let her be mad at me for the rest of the day.

I locked my fingers to hers. She looked at me with a serious face then she smiled and looked away. That's what all I needed for today to be complete.

"Mae, I'm," I trailed off but was interrupted by Adrian came running towards our direction.

She took her hands away from mine and hug Adrian as he hug back. I looked away from them trying to hide the pain in my face and in my heart.

~Mae's POV~

My heart danced happily as Matt held my hand while we were making our way inside the school. I smiled to him then look away to hide my blushing face. And that's when I saw Adrian run towards us. I pulled my hand out from Matt and walk towards Adrian. He hugged me and I hugged back.

"Hey, what's up?" he asked.

"Just walking to school with Matt," I replied. I turned around to look at him but his nowhere in sight. "But I guess he's gone."

"Well do you want to walk with me then?" he requested and I nodded.

"Sure."

We walked inside the school without any awkwardness for the first time that we're together for this past few days.

As we entered, I looked at my left side and there he was, standing with the girl that is working at the café. I didn't even know that she goes to our school.

Looking at them laughing with each other totally breaks my heart. I thought he likes me. I thought he'll never break my heart. I thought he'll always be here for me. I thought he wants me to be happy. But look at us now; he's with that girl making me totally jealous and I'm with my ex.
