Have a wonderful Christmas with you and your family and a Happy New Year!!!

~Mae's POV~

After seeing Matt kissing that girl that works at the café totally broke every single parts of me. I thought we had something special going on between us but I didn't think he felt the same way as I feel about him. He just used me for him to get girls. For me to changed his looks so girls will find him attractive. He used me to get the girls to like him. He used my entire body. He used my brain. He used my heart.

I don't think I could trust anyone these days anymore. People kept breaking their promises. People kept breaking other people's feelings.

I began running away from Matt after he begged me to listen to his explanation. But there's nothing else to explain. I saw everything. He kissed that girl from the café, who Adrian said is Cynthia, and she liked it. They both liked it. I know they did because they both smiled after and they can't get their hands off of each other.

I opened the front door of the house, still crying, and enter. I ran into my room and covered my body with the bed sheets.

Should I just cancel my plan with Adrian and stay at home, and cry? Or? Should I go and try to have a good time with Adrian? But if I go, Matt will be alone and only god knows what my dad will do to him. Yet if I didn't go, I will be alone with Matt and he's probably going to kept begging me to listen to him. Which should I do?

As I tried to decide what I'm going to do, my phone suddenly rang. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket. I looked at the caller ID and answered the phone call.

Adrian: Hey, how are you feeling?

Mae: I don't really know.

Adrian: Are you still coming over?

Mae: Umm... I think I'll stay. The fact that I hate Matt right now, he still needs me after.

Adrian: Because of your dad?

Mae: Yeah and I also have homework so yeah. What about Saturday?

Adrian: Saturday sounds great! Do you want me to help you with your homework?

Mae: No, I think I'll be fine. Thanks though.

Adrian: Well, you better feel much better for tomorrow. It's football tryout.

Mae: I think I'll be fine by then.

Adrian: Sounds good. See you tomorrow!

Mae: See you.

And with that, we both hang up. I lied down on my bed against my stomach and groaned loudly. I can't believe that I said that I'm staying here. As I remembered the things that happened these past few hours, without any warning, my tears dropped out of my eyes.

I continued crying for about half an hour until I felt someone sat on my back and began massaging it. If this was Adrian, it's fine with me, his just trying to make me feel better and less stressful. But if this was Matt, who's massaging me, I would get him off of me and go somewhere where his not in sight.

The person stood up a bit and I turned myself around. My eyes were still close because I didn't want to be surprise especially if it's Matt. They put their hands on my cheek and a guy voice whispered, "Open please." I did what he said and I sighed in relief to see Adrian.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as he got off on top of me.

"Well, you said you have homework," he responded. "So, why not help you right?"

I smiled at his kindness and he stood up and grabbbed my back pack. He set my binder on my bed as I sat up. I opened my Health binder while he grabbed my laptop.

"What do you have to do?" he asked as he set the laptop in front of me.

"Well, I have health booklet to do and an English story," I replied.

"And when are they due?" he asked one more time.

"They're both due on Monday," I responded.

I put on an innocent smile while his face has unbelievable expression.

"Have you started your story yet?" he yelled but not too loud.

I shook my head no and he groaned loudly.

"You have to start now," he begged. "And I'll help you."

"Thanks," I smiled.

__________

"Where's Matt?" Adrian asked as I finished my Health homework.

Wait. Let me correct that quick. He finished my health homework.

I shrugged my shoulder, not really wanting to talk about him this mean time. But I was wondering the same thing. He hasn't gone home yet since he saw me at the sidewalk. And that's like 3 hours ago. It's getting late and I'm getting really worried.

I picked up my phone beside my laptop and typed Matt's phone number. I'm debating if I should call him or should I not. I mean, he could be somewhere safe, or he could be somewhere really dangerous. He could be in some restaurant to think or he could be in an accident. But I hope his safe.

"Just call him," he shouted as he gently slapped my leg.

I sighed and pressed the call button and put it beside my ear. Before the first ring rang, Matt instantaneously answered the phone.

Matt: Mae! I'm glad you called. Please forgive me to what I've done. It was a mistake. A huge mistake.

Mae: Just come home.

Matt: What's the point of coming home if when I got back you're not even going to talk to me?

Mae: Matt, you're still one of my best friends. I'm terrified to what would happen to you out there because of the threats you've been getting. I still care about you even though you never cared about me.

Matt: Mae, I've always cared about you. Why...

Mae: Just come home ok?!

And with that I hang up. I loudly sighed and look at Adrian, who's already staring back at me with a little nervousness in his eyes. He gave me a weak smile while I didn't show any emotions.

"What time are you going home?" I asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence between us.

He looked at the clock and responded with, "In about 2 hours."

I nodded my head and think about something we could do together. Not anything dirty, just a friendly hang out.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" I asked again.

"Sure," he agreed.

I turned on the TV while he picked a movie for us to watch. I made myself comfortable at my bed as he sat beside me, not too close but also not too far. We ended up watching an action movie called 'Night Watch'.

I didn't even focus at the movie in front of me. I was still wondering where Matt could've been this whole time that we're not together.

I suddenly heard the home phone ring in my room. Adrian paused the movie. I quietly groaned and got up from the bed. I grabbed the phone and it was a block number. I pressed accept anyways and put the phone beside my ear. Then I felt something weird in my stomach. My heart started beating fast. My hand was shaking. I felt like I'm sweating.

"Hello?" I asked through the phone.
