"Okay, we're gonna have to sneak in." I said to Tate as we stopped in front of my house.
"What? Why?" He laughed.
"Because my mom doesn't expect us to be home for another three hours, and I don't want to explain why we're home early." I answered, looking up at tree near my house.
"Three hours from now would be three a.m." Tate stated.
"I'm aware."
"Why would your mother expect us home at three in the morning?" He asked.
"She expects us to be "outrageous teenagers" that stay out way too late getting in trouble on prom night." I answered, "And I don't feel like disappointing her."
"Because that makes total sense." Tate laughed.
"Look, she said if we were home at midnight she'd send us back out anyway, so it's either sneak in or face her wrath."
"Okay, sneaking in it is."
"Great, now help me climb this tree." I smiled, handing him the shoes I held.
I watched as he threw them up onto the roof. "There, that makes that easier." He winked.
I hiked up my dress and began climbing the tree with a little boost from Tate.
"This is much more fun to watch." I said as I struggled to climb up.
"I'm sure it is." He laughed.
"If I fall, you'll catch me right?" I asked once I had reached the branch I watched him jump from onto the roof.
"If you mean I'll break your fall with my body, then yes."
"Great."
I stepped out onto the branch, saying prayers to whoever may be listening before I lept off, landing safely on the roof.
"Tate!!" I squealed, peering down at him. "I made it!!"
"Good job, babe." He smiled, shaking his head before he began climbing up.
I opened the window, sliding inside my room as Tate made his way up.
I unzipped the back of my dress, letting it fall to the ground as I was now left in my underwear. I then began removing the abundance of bobby pins that were stuck in my hair, shaking it out as I sighed in relief.
"Well hi there." Tate whispered, his hands sliding across my now bare waist, his arms wrapping around me.
"Hi," I smiled, tilting my head to the side as he kissed my neck.
"You were right." I could feel his smirk against my skin, "What you had on underneath was just as pretty."
"Careful now," I warned. "You don't want to be a stereotypical teen on prom night."
He chuckled, kissing my neck again.
"If that clock is right, it's no longer prom nor is it night. It's morning."
"Smart ass." I giggled, turning around to kiss him.
"Sooo?" He smirked.
"So nothing." I denied him. "Still considered prom night."
He sighed, whining a little as I climbed into bed.
"But Sageeeeee." He pouted.
"But nothing!" I hushed him. "Now come cuddle with me."
He sighed, kicking off his shoes before also stripping down to his underwear.
"I love youuuuu." I teased as he climbed in beside me.
"Yeah yeah."
I pecked his lips, snuggling up to his chest. "Goodnight, Tate."
"Goodnight, Sage." He said, wrapping his arms around me. "Tease..." He mumbled under his breath.
"I heard that."
