Tate decided to stay in for the night, so I was left to venture out by myself for the first time in a long time.
I closed my bedroom door behind me, making my way towards the stairs.
As I made my way down, I allowed myself to think about what I was going to do; I hadn't planned anything out because I expected Tate to be joining me.
Once I had reached the bottom of the stairs I sighed, examining my appearance in the mirror that was hung over the table near the entrance.
I was dressed to go out, wearing high waisted black jeans and a black tank top underneath a flannel; fully covering every self-inflicted wound.
The thought made me cringe, even more so when I felt the fabric of my clothes rub against the raised skin that I knew was trying to heal. It was going to leave a scar, very obvious ones once it had fully healed, all telling the stories of the horrible things I had done.
I pushed the thoughts out of my mind as I shook my head. I took a deep breath, turning to face the front door.
"I'm gonna head out now, Mom!" I called to her, not knowing where in the house she may be.
"Is Tate going with you?" She asked, walking in from the living room with Indigo in her arms.
"No." I answered. "He doesn't feel well, so he's going to stay in for the night."
My mother nodded. "Well, have a good time bug." She smiled, walking over to give me a kiss on the cheek. "Be safe."
"I will." I smiled, giving a side hug before kissing Indigo's head gently. "Mommy will be back in a little bit." I told her, "But don't worry. Grandma is going to take amazing care of you."
My mother gave me a nod as she looked down at Indigo, "Grandma will take absolute great care of you, won't she?
I smiled, shaking my head before turning and making my way towards the door.
"Bye mom."
I exited the house, pulling the door shut behind me.
The sun was just starting to set as I took a deep breath, enjoying the new found fresh air. I was excited to go out for once, it had been way too long since the last time.
The world was my oyster, I could do anything, anything I wanted at all. But no ideas came to mind.
I sighed, feeling defeated.
I contemplated turning around and heading back inside, but as if on cue the sound of a rumbling motorcycle rang through my ears.
I turned to face the direction in which it was coming from; seeing Matty riding down the street in my direction.
He cranked the ignition as he came to a stop, turning it off as he gave me a big grin.
"Hey, Sage!" He greeted me kindly.
"Hey, Matty." I grinned, happy to see a familiar, friendly face.
"What are you up to?" He asked, straddling his bike to balance it. "Got any plans?"
I shook my head, "Not yet. My mom is watching Indigo for the night and Tate doesn't feel good, so I'm free to do whatever I want but I have no idea exactly what that is." I laughed.
"Wanna come hang out with me?" Matty asked with a grin. "I know a cool place where some people are hanging out."
I laughed at his vagueness, "So a party?"
Matty chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh yeah.."
I smiled, appreciating his efforts as I weighed the possibilities.
