It hit me like a tidal wave.
I was sitting on the grass across from Matty, waiting in complete silence. I felt it creeping up inside of me slowly; a total euphoric and overwhelmingly joyous sensation that seemed to spread throughout every inch of my body.
My skin was tingling as my thoughts became clouded.
I was a new level of happy, a level I had never experienced before; one that I couldn't even put into words to describe.
I felt at peace within myself, yet at the same time I also felt so exhilarated; with so much adrenaline and need to get my body moving.
"Matty." I spoke with complete and utter excitement, my eyes lighting up as I looked directly at him. "I think it's kicked in. Has it kicked in? I can't tell but I feel sooooo good right now."
Matty chuckled, "Yeah, Sage, I think it's kicked in."
"Really? How can you tell? I can't tell at all is it obvious?"
I could tell I was saying a lot at once, my mouth moving faster than my brain could even process, but I didn't care. All I cared about was how amazing I felt.
"For one, you're talking really fast." Matty laughed at me. "Secondly, you're practically vibrating."
"Am I? I can't tell." I laughed.
Matty shook his head, giving me a small chuckle. "It's fun being on the other end of this drug."
"What do you mean?" I asked, my legs bouncing beneath me. I felt so hyper, so ready to move around and get things going.
"I just mean that it's really fun to see someone else experience the effects rather than being the one experiencing it." He answered. "Usually I'm the one that takes the drugs here, so it's interesting to see what I must look like while on them."
"Oh makes sense." I nodded, my fingers tapping against my leg to the beat of the music that was blasting inside the house. "Hey, can we go inside? I really want to dance all of a sudden."
Matty nodded, standing up.
He offered his hand out to me, a gesture to help me up.
I took his hand, the feeling of his skin against mine sent chills down my spine. It was like a jolt of electricity shot through my veins, a tingling feeling left on my hand when he released it. I craved more of that feeling, needed to experience it throughout my entire body now.
As Matty led me inside, my body began to move instinctively to the beat of the music. It was like something had completely overtaken my body and was guiding my movements.
I swayed my hips to the beat; my hands making their way up to my head, fingers tangling into my hair as I moved.
My hands began to roam down my body, an more mild shock coursing through my veins; nothing quite like the one I had experienced when I had taken Matty's hand only moments before.
I wanted that feeling from earlier, and the only way I was going to get it was from someone else.
My eyes scanned the room of sweaty erotic bodies, stopping when they landed on a boy who had emerald green eyes and shaggy black hair. He kind of looked like the boy Matty was talking to earlier.. what was his name again...? Alex? Adrian? No no, it was Anthony.
I saw Anthony dancing n the middle of the dance floor, a red solo cup in his hand as he swayed to the music, a girl with blonde hair grinding up against him.
"Him." I thought to myself.
Before I knew it, I had managed to slip away from Matty, pushing my through the crowd of people, my eyes locked onto my target.
