You all clamber into the tiny taxi, with Matt on one side of you and Alex on the other. He clutches onto your clammy hand, squeezing it tight. You rest your head on his shoulder and he kisses it. You can feel his shaky breath on you. He kisses your cheek then moves to your lips, he is really emotional so it's hard for him to try and be romantic when he's going to burst out crying at any minute, but it makes it slightly better because all the passion and emotion floods into the kiss. Matt made a few remarks about Al kissing you for the majority of the drive but Alex tells him to "fuck off" or to "fuck himself". In the end, Alex has his arm wrapped around you, with his hand stroking your hair. You were facing his neck, giving it little kisses every now and then. The journey to the airport is pretty long, but it dosen't bother you at all.
"I'm so fucking scared," Alex whispers into your ear. You wrap your arms around him, and he snuggles into you. It's hard as everyone is watching and the taxi is really small. Alex dosen't seem to mind though.
Suddenly, the taxi stops. Your heart starts racing and you begin to feel sick.
"Alright, we're here, that'll be thirty quid," says the taxi driver. Matt hands over a couple of notes and jumps out the car. Alex looks at you with despair. You jump out the taxi, and he follows you sadly. Matt and Andy are taking out all of the cases from the boot whilst Jamie is on the phone to his Mum.
"Yeah, Mum...ehh....yeah....ehhh" he says over and over. Matt walks over to you, pulling you to the side.
"How you holding up?" he asks. You shake your head.
"I have no fucking idea what I'm going to do without him, and it sounds so pathetic" you say, putting your hands in your hair. Matt shakes his head.
"No, it dosen't" he says, pulling you into a hug.
"Thanks, Matt" you mumble onto his shoulder. He walks off to go and get a trolley for the cases. Andy walks over to you a little awkwardly.
"Hi," you say.
"Y'alright?" he asks.
"Not really," you pause "you?".
He shrugs his shoulders.
"Bit nervous, I guess" he says. You nod awkwardly. You weren't that close with Andy.
"Alex loves you," he blurts out.
"Yeah, I know" you say. He looks to the floor, not knowing what to say next. The awkwardness is saved by Alex walking over.
"You okay?" he says to you, pushing a loose bit of hair behind your ear.
"Yep" you lie. He strokes your cheek and heads over to pick up a case. Matt walks over with a trolley full of cases.
"Let's go, lads" he says excitedly. They all pile into the airport, jumping up and down like little boys. You feel really sick, everything is becoming way too real. You hadn't really thought about the actual event that you had been dreading for the past week, you just guessed it would have all worked out. But now, looking round the airport with the full to the brim cases stacked on the trolley you knew that he was leaving, for real. They all were.
