EMMA CHAMBERLAIN

"You're mad." Ethan observed, watching as I sipped away at my coffee that we just got. After Annie and Evelyn left, I asked Ethan if he wanted to come with me for a ride. I didn't really want to ask Grayson or James because I felt uncomfortable telling Grayson that I was upset with his girlfriend.

I just needed to get away from the situation because I was feeling very annoyed.

Trying to brush off his comment, even though I knew myself that I was in fact mad, I said, "Not really." My mouth stayed on my straw, almost finishing the coffee below me already.

Ethan slouched back into his chair, continuing to stare at me. "Emma, I know Annie being with Evelyn is bothering you." He told me, myself not wanting to make eye contact with him because if I did then I would lose it.

I didn't know how I felt. I felt like crying and screaming, but I couldn't since we were sitting in a coffee shop.

Seeing Annie just blow me off so easily for Evelyn really took a dig in my heart. I know Evelyn doesn't have bad intentions like Freya did, but I just feel like Annie is going to keep ditching me.

I shouldn't be or feel this way since Evelyn is leaving in a couple days, but that doesn't mean they won't talk or FaceTime everyday or go on trips to see each other. This was Annie's best friend for so long... I'm just someone she's known for a couple months.

Before I knew it, I felt a tear slip down my cheek, falling onto the lid of my coffee.

Trying my hardest not to break down, I said, "I'm scared."

My stomach ached from laughing my butt off. Evelyn was hands down one of the funniest people I've ever met. As similar as she still is, she has just gotten so much funnier.

Almost tumbling into Emma and I's apartment, Evelyn caught me by my arm, laughing along with me. I was laughing so hard that it was impossible for me to walk.

"What- " I took a breath, laughing more. "The hell." I couldn't wrap my head around the story that Evelyn just told me.

Continuing laughing, Evelyn said, "I literally wanted to cry, imagine getting stung by a jellyfish in front of a hot boy then watching him pee on your foot. It was traumatizing!" She retold her story of the time she went to camp.

I slapped my knee, silently laughing, "AND THEN THEY CALLED YOU PEE GIRL!"

Evelyn shoved me a bit, jokingly. "Shut up!" She laughed, following behind me as I walked to the kitchen. We just got back from getting some food so I was extremely thirsty.

"Do you want something to drink?" I began to calm down, looking in the fridge for to see what we had. My face dropped once I saw absolutely nothing in the fridge except for some almond milk, a half eaten chocolate bar, some salsa, and a few hard boiled eggs.

Feeling disappointed and not in the mood for coffee, I turned around and smiled at Evelyn. "We got water, or coffee, or almond milk."

"Seems typical, I'll just have some water since we just had some coffee." She requested, myself grabbing two glasses, filling them up with ice and then some water. Handing Evelyn over a glass, we both began to chug it.

Sometimes water just tasted so good.

Bringing the glass down from my lips, I realized that Emma was not home. I haven't heard from her all day since we left James' house which was kind of odd. Usually, we check in with each other even if we are with friends or with Grayson or Ethan. Feeling alarmed, I got out my phone, finding my sisters contact.
