"It was the dead, they were trying to reclaim me."

"Huh?" Eddie, Mia and Chris asked ever so eloquently.

"They were trying to take me back to the land of the dead."

"How is that possible Rose? You were still alive." Mia asked.

With a ragged breath I said, "but I haven't always been."

"What in the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Eddie asked that time.

"Do you remember the accident that killed Lissa's family?" They all three nodded.

I swallowed hard before trying to continue. "It killed me too."

"I am sorry Rose, but I don't understand."

"I also died in that accident. But Lissa used her spirit magic, to bring me out of the land of the dead, and back to the land of the living. Essentially she brought me back to life."

"How... how is that even possible?"

"You know, that Lissa and Adrian both, specialize in a very rare element. Which is called Spirit."

Again, they all three nodded.

"With spirit, a lot of out of this world things are possible. We are in one, right now. Adrian can dream walk and see auras. Do you know what an aura is?"

Once again, they all three nodded.

"Ok, Lissa can heal, and thanks to Adrian teaching her, she can also see aura's. But with her healing magic, she brought me back to life. Do you guys remember Avery Lazar?"

For a third time, they nodded.

"She was also a spirit user. Her guardian was killed, and she brought him back to life, like Lissa did for me. But Avery became obsessed with power. She thought that the more people that she shadow kissed, the more power that she would have. So, she killed her brother, or had her shadow kissed bond mate do it for her, I don't really remember which. Either way, after he died, she shadow kissed him too. While I was in Russia, she compelled Lissa to do all sorts of stupid shit, including breaking up with Pyro. Eventually, she tried to kill Lissa, so that she could shadow kiss her too. She thought, that with Lissa shadow kissed to her, she could rule our world through Lissa. And every time, that I would try to help Lissa, Avery would push me out of Lissa's head. Understand so far?"

More nodding.

"Well, thanks to another spirit user that I know, I helped Lissa fight Avery off from Russia just in time to stay alive..."

"No Rose, you fought her off I was just the tool that you used to do it."

I shrugged. "Whichever way you want to look at it, Lissa is still alive and not shadow kissed. But while we fought against Avery, with the help of Adrian..." they turned to look at Adrian, who looked embarrassed, that I would point him out. "... Avery went bat shit crazy."

I wasn't going into deep detail, simply because it wasn't necessary.

"Any way, the point is that a spirit user can't shadow kiss more than one person without going crazy. UNLESS, it happens like it did with Lissa, Mitya, and myself. If the bond hadn't formed between Dimitri and I, then it would have driven, not only Lissa insane, but also Mitya and myself."

They all looked shocked.

"Ok. But that doesn't explain, your death or the plane." Eddie said.
