— SDCC 2019: Illusion panel
"Please put your hands together for the cast and crew of..." — the announcer behind the intercom pauses for tension — "Illusion! The last superhero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!"
The cast of the film was out in a straight line. Towards the mid section of the line Dan and Charlie pull their hands apart. They know they can't keep their love from the public forever. But still...they still try.
Not only do they want to hide a fact that they're not dating, but the fact they're about to be parents within the next several months. Charlie's dress is loose. However, it looks weird especially around her belly, but there's nothing they can do about the dress.
The crowd then screams louder when they see Dan and Charlie, despite basically knowing nothing about them. They only know that they're the main characters because of the dramatic poster which is on the screen, behind the panel.
Dan and Charlie then sit down next to each other. On the other side of Dan is Aubrey. Charlie sits besides some of the minor actors, Kevin Feige, and of course Scarlett Johansson who plays a major part. But Scarlett is mainly filming scenes elsewhere because she's a very busy woman.
"We managed to keep this a secret." Charlie laughs as soon as she sits down. She's been to a few panels beforehand, but she never got to talk.
But she wants to change that this year.
Majority of the cast look at Aubrey for her to say something first, however everyone else tries to get a good glimpse of their new favorite superhero. "Thank you everyone for joining this panel. I can see by the second more and more people are arriving." The hall is cram packed full of people.
It's no surprise since they just dropped news of a new Marvel movie.
"We're tremendously excited to be here...but I'll let your Liam Dawson do the talking for now." Dan nervously takes a sip of his water before smiling.
"I am actually really fucking nervous right now." That's when Charlie's eyes widen. They're not allowed to swear at the panel.
"You can't swear" Aubrey whispers in his ear as Dan then nervously laughs.
"Sorry...about swearing. I have no idea what I'm doing. But this is incredible and like...yeah." Dan then turns towards Charlie as for she should talk. So she rolls her eyes back.
"Does anyone have any questions they would like to ask Dan, me, or...yeah?" It's a messy Comic-Con. But nobody in the room actually cares about the unorganized panel. They want all of the details about the new Marvel movie.
They all feel ever so special.
Of course, multiple people in the room raise their hands. While Charlie and Dan hold back a nervous laugh. Charlie then points at the youngest person in the room, she's an eighteen year old girl from London. She has sleeve length tattoos and long bright purple hair. "The girl with the coolest hair in the world!"
While the girl freaks out that Charlie picked her, one of the sound engineers for the event passes her a microphone.
"Hi...what's your name?" Charlie sweetly says with a big smile on her rosy face.
"Clara!" She shouts back.
"It's so good to hear another London accent, what are you doing all the way out here?" Dan can't help but smile. Charlie is the only person who would try making a conversation with any fan...even if it's an inconvenient time.
"I came here for the Marvel panel!" She sobs while Charlie makes an 'awe' noise.
"What's your question, Clara?"
"Is the film based off of the comic book?" Charlie sternly nods her head. It's the thing that she is most proud of.
Dan points in the direction towards Charlie. "This woman here nailed all of Lily's mannerisms." Charlie blushes at Dan's compliment before turning away to the audience.
"I can't legally tell you what comic universe this film is based on...but what I can tell you is that yes it's based off of a comic book. However, it's a mix between the original and a few others...if that makes any sense." Half of the male audience grunts, but they are very interested in the Illusion film. He's a complicated superhero...who deserves some light. Clara nods her head before giving back the mic.
Dan then points to a guy in the audience who has a rainbow tie die top on. It takes a few seconds to give him the mic but he then stands up. "Hi, my name is Klaus Kane, and I'm from Florida" — he's came prepared, Dan thinks to himself with a apparent smile on his face — "Is Lacey Dawson going to appear? Considering everything Lily and Liam do is for her." Dan then awkwardly looks at Aubrey. Even she let's out a awkward laugh.
"We're not ruling out that possibility...considering Lacey is a vital character in their story. I'd love to chat more, but we actually have something really special to show you. It's a rough draft, since we're still filming, but it's something to feast on until next Valentine's." Everyone in the hall gasps in shock.
They're not ready for the trailer...but they want it.
The hall is filling up. So much so, that people are stood around the sides while others remain seated. "Apologies in advance for my terrible acting." Dan add as Charlie quickly slaps him playfully around the back of his head. The lights go dim and the panel stand up and go to the sides of the stage to watch the screen behind them. Several seconds later, when it's completely pitch black, Charlie hugs into Dan while they watch the trailer...
