"Mate, you mean we're flying on a private jet?" Kyle excitedly asks while the chaperone takes them to the airport.
"Yeah" For Dan and Charlie it's nothing new.
Private planes aren't new to any of the Bastille members either, although those ones was more lower class and the journey didn't last as long as this flight will do. So that's why Kyle is over the moon.
"And the hotel that we're going to be staying at...is that posh?" Charlie nods her head, although Dan hadn't even really though that out.
The hotel is in LA, which is more covenant for reporters than it would be if they stayed in England. That being said the only reason why Kyle is tagging along is just so someone they know can look after Lacey. All the other guys was busy, as so is his girlfriend, but Kyle doesn't mind.
"They hire the best looking hotel rooms even though we're going to sit in the corner...with a fake black background around us." Dan didn't know that so he makes an 'ah' sound.
"And where do you want me to be with Lace?" They've not even left their hometown yet and Kyle is already asking the big questions.
"Um...we'll talk to you about it when we get there I guess? It has to be somewhere where she can see us, otherwise she'll just scream and won't shut up which is annoying? Isn't it? You're so annoying." Charlie says in a light babyish voice while Lacey babies back a bunch of random noises.
"I love how you can tell her that you hate her and she just smiles." Both Charlie and Dan look at Kyle almost mortified.
"Why do you hate my daughter, mate?" Kyle then holds both of his arms out.
"No! I love her. I'm just using hate as a an example. It's utterly cute." With that Charlie lightens up while Dan shakes his head before muttering 'dickhead' under his breath.
In a moment of silence everyone then does their own thing. Dan looks out of the window, staring at all the London traffic that they've managed to avoid. Charlie lovingly looks down at Lacey who is cradled in her arms, and Kyle puts on a song from Spotify.
"Today is a big deal" — Charlie smiles — "it's Lacey's first time going on a plane..." her voice trails off. While Dan then looks at them both with a smile.
"I nearly forgot then..." Dan laughs while his cheeks blush a pink shade.
Charlie smiles nodding her head, while Dan leans forwards slightly and brushes his daughters soft cheek with the back of his finger. They say nothing except stare at each other.
"She's going to grow up in one lavish lifestyle." Dan then shakes his head.
Both Dan and Charlie have had several discussions about how to bring their daughter up, which is a very common talk for new parents. While they want Lacey to grow up with money and class...they also want to keep her out of the limelight. They want Lacey to be kind, helpful, caring, and mostly humble. But that might be hard with their climbing fame status.
"She'll be taking the tube and buses in no time..." Charlie then says while she leans her head back and closes her eyes. She's had barely no sleep because of all the packing.
"Eighteen years later she'll be like: 'oh mother, thank you for the Rolls Royce...but I wanted a Tesla'. Am I wrong? Dan, am I wrong?" While Dan laughs at Kyle's truth, he is forced to nod his head.
"Nah, you're right."
"Bitch I grew up in a fucking caravan, okay? I no no one but myself. My daughter is gonna be streetwise...but have expensive taste. Parenting goals." Both Dan and Kyle shake their heads with a smile while Charlie continues to keep her eyes closed.
"She's gonna get ten quid from me on her birthday every year. Not a penny more." Dan smiles at the thought of his daughter growing up into a normal family, but because of Illusion...that's all changed within a blink of an eye. Although the future sure does look bright.
"She's lucky either way." Charlie says with a smile while she kisses her daughter on the head.
"Would you guys be interested in having another one?" Dan then looks confusedly at Kyle while Charlie grins, she knows exactly what he means.
"Another one..." he points his head towards Lacey.
"Lace doesn't have any...siblings."
"Yes she does, Dan." Dan's eyes widen while he then points at Charlie.
"Your pregnant?!" He shouts while Charlie closes both of her eyes and tilts her head back.
"Already?!" — Dan loudly says with a smile planted on his face — "Your pregnant?! Do you know she's pregnant?" Dan's over the moon, although he's confused...considering they haven't had sex without protection.
It could've leaked? Dan thinks to himself while Charlie then looks at him unimpressed.
"I know I've been putting on the weight that I lost...but seriously? You think I'm pregnant?" Dan then cringes as he now realises two things; the first being that Lacey has a half-brother, and second being that presuming a woman is pregnant is wrong.
"No. You look amazing, darling." Dan is telling the truth, he loves Charlie's body no matter what. He's just glad to see her looking healthy again.
"Lacey has her brother, god rest his soul." Charlie scolds while Dan nods his head. Kyle's eyes then awkwardly widens before he points to Lacey.
"Can I have a hold?" He randomly asks while Charlie smiles sweetly and nods her head.
"I think she's getting bored of me anyway..."
