The Paris conference and press junket flew by quickly, mainly because instead of staying in a hotel room they all explored Paris in incognito mode. It was the first time Charlie and Dan felt comfortable to walk around with Lacey in her small push chair, but nobody noticed them.
They mainly spent all weekend exploring, since there wasn't that many interviewers lines up outside of their hotel door.
And now they're in the Big Apple, which is also Charlie's first time of coming here. So everything seems a little overwhelming to her and Lacey, Dan however has been to New York many times before and knows his way around certain areas.
"What the fuck is that smell!" — Charlie says whilst holding Lacey in her baby carrier, which is attached to her shoulders and waist for support — "I'm so hungry that I could literally eat the air right now." Charlie says with a massive smile imprinted on her face while they walk to a restaurant that Dan and Kyle found during the Bad Blood days.
Both Kyle and Dan scoff at Charlie's comment, since they remember the joke Kyle made about eating the air before from their New York leg of the tour.
"We're a few block away?" Charlie tilts her head upwards in frustration. She thought Dan said that they're 'nearly there', both obviously she heard wrong.
"What?" Dan says while Charlie gives him a continuous scolding look.
"A 'few' American blocks...is a fucking piss take!" There's more houses and buildings in New York compared to the British saying 'around the corner'.
"Don't swear in front of the baby" Dan laughs while Charlie growls in frustration.
"She's not going to talk any time soon." Charlie sternly says while she looks down and see her daughter is awake, but very quiet. Lacey's basically looking at nothing while she places her small hand on her mother's soft skin.
"I don't think she's okay..." Charlie whines while being careful of where she's stepping. Today she's nearly tripped over several times, which scares her because she doesn't want to fall on Lacey.
"What do you mean she's not okay?" Dan immediately asks while all three of them find a space to the side besides a hotdog stall, so they're not taking up all of the walk way.
"She's not acting like her usual self."
Dan then pulls down the wrap so she can see his daughters face but immediately shrug. "She has colour in her cheeks." But Charlie shakes her head.
"She's never this quiet or still." Charlie whispers as she rests the back of her hand against Lacey's head.
"Maybe she's tired, babe?"
"Yeah, Charlie. She looks tired." Charlie then nods her head although she isn't one hundred percent convinced that...Lacey is just 'tired'. But she'll keep a close eye on her.
"What time did Lace have her last bottle? Do you remember?" Dan nods his head towards Kyle.
"Nah mate."
Charlie then realises what's wrong with Lacey in a matter of seconds. "She hasn't had her bottle for the entire day! She's probably weak or something." Charlie then gets into a fuss while Dan goes into Charlie's backpack and pulls out Lacey's bottle...but it's too cool to give her. She can't process anything hot or cold yet.
"Shit..." Charlie and Dan mumble under their breaths.
"I told you to give her a bottle this morning!" Charlie shouts over some classic New York taxi drivers shaking their fists at each other.
"I thought you said that you gave her one!" Charlie then shakes her head disbelieved with Dan.
"Why the fuck am I even going to marry you?" She then walks off, in the direction that they was heading towards before, while both Dan and Kyle snigger at Charlie's last comment. She would laugh, but she's more adamant to get to a restaurant and ask if they can microwave her daughters bottle...
So Dan and Kyle follow after her, despite Charlie not knowing where she's going.
