— Filming, 126
Dan and Charlie are still in LA filming some action scenes. However, today is a day of 'talk' for the cast. They want to make sure that the film has a story other than being just a visual spectacle.
So today's 'talk' scenes are done outside, instead of being in a studio. They've managed to close down a street in LA, so they're filming there.
The reason why they're getting away filming in LA is because Liam ran away to change his identity, but Lily found him. The only way to describe it is that it's cat and mouse chase, Liam being the mouse and Lily being the cat. So the scene is Liam trying to get away from her while he's doing some shopping, but Lily is trying to tell him about the horrors back home in London. About the mess she helped create.
To cover up Charlie's blossoming baby bump, Charlie has a large backpack in the way of it in very long shot. However, the editing crew have worked their magic for some scenes and has made the bump disappear several times.
"Charlie, I need you to sort of shove people out of the way, but because Lily want's to prove to Dan she's forced to say 'sorry' or 'excuse me'. Do you think you can you do that?" Charlie nods her head, she's already out of breath considering she's been running after Dan's character for about fifteen minutes.
"Do I literally push them...or is it just a rude shoulder nudge?" Aubrey feels like all hope is lost between Dan and Charlie, they both aren't the easiest of people to work with.
"What's easier for you?" The stunt person asks Charlie specifically.
"I can do both, I just don't want to hurt anyone." She nervously laughs while Dan stands in the background having a quick vape break. He's trying to break out of the smoking routine before his daughter arrives, but it's proving to be more difficult than the first time he quit.
It doesn't help when majority of his mates are heavy smokers.
Dan's set mate, since he touched down in LA, is Kyle...who surprisingly is being very tame for the first time ever. Dan and Charlie both are weirded out by how distant Kyle seems in general. Something really must be bothering him.
"How long does it take to film a scene?" Kyle queries.
"Depends on the scene, really. Sometimes they can take two minutes to film, especially a quick talking part. But for other scenes like action sequences and scenes that you have to rehearse for...can take months. We've still yet got to do a real take for the underwater scene...well we did half." Kyle nods his head before timidly crossing his arms.
"What's up?" Dan whispers knowing that Kyle doesn't like talking about his feelings in front of other people.
"Danger." Kyle then smiles, but the joke breezes over Dan's head.
"What's up, what?" Kyle stops looking at Charlie whose quickly pushing her way through the crowd, following the camera.
"What's Up, Danger?" — Dan looks at Kyle completely mystified — "Jesus fucking Christ, dude. The song from the black Spider-Man film." Dan then makes a long 'oh' sound as he recalls the song which played during the start of the third act.
"Miles, weren't it?" Kyle nods his head while they both smile thinking back about how amazing the film was. Both of them didn't see it the film with each other, but they watched it around the same time. Dan took his nephew and brother-in-law, while his sister stayed at home with her other little one.
"What's up danger...don't be a stranger? I dunno..." Dan's voice trails off as he bursts into laughter, making Kyle crack a smile.
"Seriously...what's up?"
"Did you get that new contract from Virgin?" Dan shakes his head, his face went from smiling over a kids movie...to being very serious within seconds.
"Fucking hell..." Kyle shakes his head while he then stares at the floor.
"What was in the contract? You know that you're not obliged to do anything, whatever is fucking you off is my problem. Not yours." Dan was the one to let Bastille go to waste, so now he's willing to go down for it.
"They expect new music off of us soon...or otherwise they'll take us to court and sue us for everything we have. They can't do that, it isn't fair on you and Chris. You're both fathers...and Will is getting married..." Dan then shrugs back his shoulders. He knows that he can't go to court against Virgin Records, they're a major record label.
"Let's make a new fucking album then?" Kyle then looks up in shock, he wasn't expecting Dan to say that so willingly.
"Wait, what?"
"It's been months and we're all talking again. It's like that bitch never happened. Maybe getting back in the hang of things...is for the best." Kyle then shrugs back his shoulders, making non-techno music again does sound nice.
"Yeah...alright." Kyle smiles nodding his head.
"Let's make another motherfucking album!" He throws his hands in the air while Aubrey angrily yells 'cut'.
The scene with Charlie running after the camera was finally perfect...until Kyle ruined that.
