While Dan is watching the film, Charlie on the other hand is in a difficult place. An unwanted visitor has turned up out of the blue...and she's pissed off.

Despite the unwanted visitor demanding answers, Charlie has more questions...for her mother.

"Get out!" Charlie shouts, although because of yesterday's round of chemo she's in a really rough place. She's far too weak to stand up and force Tiffany out of the room.

"Why are you in here?" Tiffany looks around the private hospital room. She's trying to see if she can spot any reason as to why her daughter is in this place. But there's nothing, other than a temporary baby cradle...but with no baby inside of it.

She begins to panic.

"Oh god...Where's the baby?" Tiffany for the past few months has got a private investigator to follow her daughter around. She claims to have done out of 'love', or so she told the PI.

"She's safe." — Charlie snaps while her mother sighs, feeling relieved that nothing bad has happened to her granddaughter — "Why don't you tell me why the fuck you're here?" Charlie hold's her ground...whilst laying in her bed.

"When I saw you in the shop...I saw how happy you was. That you out of all people was expecting...and I mean that in a good way. You're a much better mother than I ever was." Charlie purses her lips together tightly. She isn't falling for her mother's bait.

But she'll take complete moments from her any day of the week, despite her festering hate she has towards her.

"I really want to be involved in your lives, but that is only if you let me try. I'm not the person you think I am. I killed the monster side of me me with sleeping pills, she's as good as gone."

"It's too late." Charlie laughs. She only laughs because it's just as painful as crying.

"It's never too late to reunite, my dear..." Tiffany softly says with a smile in her voice, but watery eyes.

"I'm dying." Charlie admits, but with a smile. She's not scared of death either. All her life she's been wanting to be with her dad...so because of her not responding to her treatment it's looking to be that way.

"No..." Tiffany tears up while looking at her daughter.

"I got told an hour ago that they're going to be stopping my chemo in two more sessions time if I don't progress. They're saying that it's spreading...not stopping." it's the real reason why Charlie didn't want Dan with her, she knew about her appointment and kept it from him.

She doesn't want him to worry, although Dan will always worry about her. Cancer or not.

"You...no..." Tiff is chocked up for words.

"Life is shit. But at least I'll go in peace knowing that my boyfriend is the world's best father to our little girl. I just have to find him a new girlfriend first, which is going to take some time...which isn't something in my side..." Tiff shakes her head in disbelief.

"Stop being selfish!" — the words stumble of out Charlie's mother's mouth — "You do not know whether it'll work or not! Live in the moment! You're a mother now, think about your daughter...your boyfriend. They need you to fight this thing, as so do I." Charlie shakes her head looking at her mother.

"I'm tired...and this thing has only just started. What you see is what you get. Your dying daughter who hates you." Charlie then leans her head back on the pillow and closes her eyes.

"You can call me selfish, but we both know at my funeral you're going to call me every sweet and sickly thing that your twisted mind can come up with. I know you think like that because when Aubrey gets pissed off with me she says I'm exactly like you. And I hate it. But I know it's the truth. The only difference between us is that I still have my dignity...and I listen to my boyfriends problems. You never talked to dad, you fucking hated him."

"I had every single right to hate that mad bastard. He was going to take you away from me!"

"Shame he fucking hanged himself instead!" Charlie snaps back while she then gets teary.

But she doesn't stop there. No. Her newfound anger has only just got started. "I wish he never died so I would've had a better up bringing. You're a terrible person and I'll never forgive you for putting me through so much shit!"

"You say you listen to your boyfriends problems" — Tiffany completely changes the topic — "so did you know that his underage ex-girlfriend was pregnant?"

Charlie, who is in shock by a serious allegation against Dan, nods her head even though she never knew the girl was underage...or pregnant. Dan said that she was 'young' but she thought early twenties...not mid-to-late teens.

"So you knew about that...and you seriously stayed with him?!" Charlie nods her head while she feels herself crying. She thought Dan was her best friend, that they shared all of their secrets...but a baby with an underage girl...it feels too messed up to be even remotely true.

There's in a bitter silence while her mother points towards the door. "Whether you like me or not...I'm going to visit you. I've changed Aubrey's emergency contact number to mine. I'm not letting you go, now or never. You're my baby." Charlie, who's fighting back the tears mumbles 'fuck off' in protest while Tiffany walks out of the dim glowing hospital room.

As soon as the door clicks shut Charlie bursts out crying. The saddest and loneliest cries.
