Jan's POV

"My leg just died." I tapped into my keypad.

"CPR TO THE LEG!!" AJ texted back.

"Same with my sanity." I laughed.

"CPR TO THE SANITY!!" Was her reply.

"Oh, Nevermind. That's been gone for a while now." I texted back.

"Yeah? Since when?" She asked.

"Since I met you." I quickly sent, then continued with,

"See, that's why I like you. You're hilarious and awesome. And that's why I told you I like you, I knew you wouldn't hurt me for it because you are one insane human."

"Aw..." She replied.

"It's not 'cause I do CPR to legs?"

I laughed out loud.

"That too."

Our conversation went on like this for hours, until we both decided we should sleep before we die of deprivation.

Before I put my phone away I sent one quick text to Kat:

"I did it."

And with that I drifted off to sleep.

AJs POV

My roar of laughter Finally settled down, and I laid down to contemplate how I felt about this.

I don't like her, well I mean not in that way. She was a great friend, and I liked it like that. Was she expecting me to like her back? No, Jan wouldn't think that. If anything she'd think I hated her. She didnt, did she? I looked down at my phone and saw a text from my boyfriend, Cam.

"Adria, look. I, I just don't think I like you anymore. But you're still a great friend, and I think we should just be friends. I'm really sorry, but it just isn't working out. I'm so so so sorry.

Friends?"

I decided not to text back, as that was what I was going to tell him anyways. I had my eye on someone else.

I woke up and sent a quick reply to cam, I just let him know I felt. I mean, it hurt a bit but it was for the best.

I then quickly texted January and invited her to spend the night. She responded cheerfully almost immediately. With the whole prosthetic thing, they were having me do my drivers test again, you know, safety and all. It meant though that I couldn't drive myself around, let alone with jan. so I apologized and set down my phone on the bedside table and proceeded to remove my prosthetic leg.

I then bent the knee and placed it next to the front door.

Fifteen minutes later, I heard a click. January swiftly walked through the door and slipped the house key I gave her after the front door incident back into her purse, and proceeded to sing out;

"II'MMM HOOOOOMMEE!!"

I laughed and ran to, correction, limped, to the front door. But instead of hugging her, I picked up my leg and proceeded to smack her harshly in the gut with the metal foot.

She whimpered.

"That's because you made this awkward." I smiled.

Then I grabbed her collar and planted my lips on hers.

"And that's because I like you."
