January's POVI woke up, and felt pain. Weird pain. Like, in the back of my head weird pain. Now you can probably see why I was afraid because ones head is not the best place to have unusual pains in. But I blew it off and went downstairs I make myself waffles. I just about swallowed my mouthguard when I saw a dark silhouette sitting at my kitchen table. I aproached, cautiously, and then I heard little sobbing noises. I put down the lamp I instinctively grabbed. As I neared, I immediately recognized the voice.
"Kat?" I asked quietly.
Sobbing.
"Kat??" I Asked again, then realized I wasn't going to get any speech out of her. So I sat next to her and rubbed her back. I looked over my shoulder to see AJ stepping down the stairs. She yawned and looked at Kat.
"Kitty?" She asked.
She sat next to me and kissed my ear.
"Mornin'." She whispered.
After a bit of silence, Kat turned around and moved so her head was between us and our arms were around her. She sobbed a while before saying ;
"H-he just-" and more sobs.
Kat never got emotional. She had emotions but she just held them in really well. So this had to be bad.
"Dad, h-he just-" she stammered.
"Whipped me." She squeeked, and went into another phase of extreme crying.
That time I DID choke on mouth guard. I leaned over, hacking and caughing, trying to dislodge the mouth guard leg from my esophagus. After a minuite, I finally spat the dreaded plastic scrap onto the floor. I quickly picked up Kat and moved her to the couch.
She pointed to her side. I lifted up her jacked to reveal a massive red mark and blood on the inside of her jacket. I got up and quickly ran to the bathroom, where I got out my gauze and other things necessary to patching up my broken friend.
As I aproached, I saw a glistening of red coming from her other side. I neared and saw a pen sticking out from her other side. She was bleeding. I called 911.
