Aedion held the little girl's hand as he led her through the halls of the kingdom. Ever since Aelin reclaimed her throne, everything is going according to plan. There is a small house for the sadly orphaned children and the girl that Aedion is leading around is, unfortunately, one of them.
Rowan discovered her first, he found her stumbling around with no one to help. He learned that she had become blind after her father's many anger lashes at her, she's been blind for nearly three years now.
Yrene said the damage has been set and she couldn't salvage the girl's eyes even if she wanted to. Instead, Yrene fashioned a cane for the girl to use. She hasn't gotten used to using it yet and prefers having someone lead her around.
"Where are we now?" Y/n, the young girl, softly asked.
Aedion stopped and looked outside.
"We are near the Queen's Garden," Aedion told her.
"Describe it."
And so Aedion did. He knew it was worth it because of her smile. She rested her head against his hip, her grip on his hand loosening. She's falling asleep.
Aedion picked her up, carrying her through the halls. Perhaps he and Lysandra will adopt her if she wanted that.
