The Sports Festival was in two weeks. The whole school was preparing for it, including class 1-A.
(Y/n) yawned and stretched. The sun was barely over the horizon, and she got up early to go for a jog. She couldn't always rely on her wings to carry her everywhere. If she used them too much, the would make her back ache. After a trip to the doctors, they warned (Y/n) not to use her quirk at full strength everyday, for she could risk damaging her spine.
Her hero costume had built-in lightweight clamps, meant to hold her wings steady and keep her back from aching.
She put in earbuds and started off. Waving to Iida sprinting around the track, (Y/n) stopped in front of one of the faux cities. It reminded her of her days as a vigilante, hopping over rooftops and keeping people safe.
"Hey Sero! Hi Ojiro!" she greeted the two boys. They nodded in her direction, too busy focusing on their training.
(Y/n) stretched out her wings to their extent and shook them out. She took a running start in the street and leaped.
She beat her wings together rhythmically and took off. (Y/n) soared gracefully over the buildings, racing Ojiro over the rooftops.
She twisted and shot up to the sky above. (Y/n) felt the clouds brush against her hands and she fell, spiraling down to the road. She extended her wingtips and caught a breeze, the ground just a few feet below her.
(Y/n) laughed in delight and did laps around the city. After a while, her back complained and she touched down in the forest.
"Ow..." she folded the back and rolled her shoulders to soothe the pain. A nice, quiet walk in the forest was just what she needed.
It didn't last long.
"Die! Die! Die!"
She sighed, recognizing that voice. Her wings unfurled and she squinted at the trees in her clearing. Choosing a tree with a knot in the trunk, she took aim.
With almost perfect precision, she threw a flurry of feather blades. They all stuck dead to the knot.
"Ha! Nailed it!" she preened. The bushes behind her rustled and she spun around.
"What do you want?" she went back to training as Bakugo scowled at her.
"You and me. Fight. Now." he growled.
"I'm surprised you were able to form such a complex sentence. Congrats."
More blades sliced through the tree, each knocking a chunk off piece by piece.
"I know you're still mad at me. What are you upset about?"
"You wanna know why I'm upset?"
Thunk. Another bit of the tree flew off.
"You bullied me, all through highschool."
Thunk.
"You told Izuku, my only friend at the time-"
Thunk.
"To off himself."
Crack.
"You ask me for forgiveness-"
Crack!
"I forgive you. Think you've changed."
Snap!
"And what do you do?"
The tree groaned in protest as another flurry of feathers hit its trunk.
