"(Y/n)?"
She blinked in surprise. She turned and met Shoto's eyes.
"Shoto? What are you doing here?"
"I came to visit my mother. I just finished. What are you doing here?"
"Same. It, uh... didn't go over so well."
"(Y/n)... have you been crying?"
He brushed a strand of hair from her face.
"Yeah. Is it that obvious?" (Y/n) laughed. She was suddenly enveloped in a hug. She didn't know how to react. She eventually hugged him back, grateful for the comfort.
"What are you doing now?" he asked.
"Oh, I was just going to go home. You?"
"I was too, but now... (Y/n), do you want to walk around with me? Like downtown?" Shoto stammered.
Is he flustered? What for? (Y/n) wondered.
"Sure, why not? It would make me feel better."
~
"Aww, look at that one! It's so cute!"
(Y/n) traced her finger along the glass, watching the kitten chase after it. She grinned up at Shoto, who was trying his best not to blush.
"Yeah, cute."
They continued down the line of shops. (Y/n) suddenly paused at a window, her eyes fixated on something inside.
"What is it?" Shoto asked.
"Look at that necklace! It's so pretty!" (Y/n) gushed. The necklace had a delicate gold chain, and the pendant was a gold heart shape with wings. In the heart was (Y/n)'s birthstone.
"I'm gonna go buy it, wait here!"
She stepped inside, smiling at the cashier. They talked, and the cashier presented her with the necklace. Shoto could see her patting her pockets and her smile faltering. She said something to the cashier once more, and left without the necklace.
"What happened?" Shoto asked her.
"Haha, the one day I forget to bring my money. That'll teach me," (Y/n) laughed. "Oh well, I can buy it tomorrow!"
"I could buy it for you if you want." Shoto offered.
"What? Oh no, I don't need anyone to spend any money on me, I insist. Anyways, thanks for taking me to walk downtown. It really took my mind off of things," (Y/n) thanked him. Her face suddenly lit up, and she pointed to something over his shoulder.
"Look! An ice skating rink!"
She took his hand in hers and she raced off to go see.
"Oh, it looks so fun!"
"Tickets are only 1074.02 yen," Shoto remarked (10 dollars in America). "Would you like to go?"
"Oh yes please! Thank you so so much!" (Y/n) cheered. He handed her the money.
"I'll be right back." he assured her. She stepped into line, and when she wasn't looking, Shoto slipped away and made his way back to the store.
"Hello. I'd like to buy that." he pointed to the necklace.
"Ah, you buying it for your girlfriend?" the cashier chuckled.
"What? No, no, she's just a friend." Shoto muttered, embarrassed.
"Okay, whatever you say." the cashier grinned. Shoto finished paying for the necklace, then got it wrapped up in a pretty box. He pocketed the necklace and jogged back to (Y/n).
"Ah, there you are! C'mon, let's get our skates on!"
~
"And, I can skate backwards!" (Y/n) bragged. They had been ice skating so long, the sun had begun to set.
"(Y/n), look out!" Shoto warned.
She swerved out of the way, just missing a mother and her child. This move made her lose her balance, and she almost fell. Shoto lunged forward, catching her around her waist.
"Ah, thanks... Shoto..."
(Y/n) felt her face heat up from embarrassment. Shoto's face was inches from her's and she could feel his warm breath on her cheeks. She looked back up at his eyes. He seemed to be fixated on her lips.
The left shoulder of his jacket suddenly burst into flames, ruining the moment.
"Ah! Shoto, your jacket!" (Y/n) cried, patting it with her sleeve to extinguish the flames. They broke apart, finally putting out the fire.
"I didn't realize how late it was. I should probably head home," (Y/n) sighed.
"Wait, (Y/n)!"
She watched as Shoto pulled out a box and opened it, revealing the necklace she wanted earlier.
"Oh my gosh, thank you! How did you even get this, I- wait..." a thought struck her.
"Did you use your dad's credit card to buy me this?" she asked. He looked over at the sunset.
"We may never know," he murmured.
"You sly dog! But what happens when he finds out?" (Y/n) asked worriedly.
"It's fine." Shoto brushed it off.
He picked up the necklace and unclasped it, slipping it over her head. (Y/n) felt butterflies in her stomach as his hands brushed her neck.
"Thank you Shoto, really. Today was an amazing day." (Y/n) grinned from ear to ear. They got off the ice rink, said goodbye, and parted ways.
After that last chapter, ya'll deserve some fluff!
