I rolled over to find Michie fast asleep next to me. I smiled at her sleeping peaceful, or was until I pulled the blanket off her and wrapping myself in a blanket burrito and pushed her off the bed with my feet she landed not so gracefully on the floor with a loud thump.

"Morning," I greeted her, when she stood up growling at me. With a huff she got back into bed. I got up deciding it was time for breakfast. It was past midday we had been up most of the night eating and watching movies like old time instead of the catch up we promised each other pushing it today. I tied my hair in a messy bun and washed my face with cold water and brushed my teeth and heeded down stairs to the kitchen, where I poured myself a glass of orange juice.

"Morning," I greeted Wes, who shuffled in looking like he had the worst hang over which was a very strange sight since wolves' naturally had great immunity to alcohol they had to drink a lot and by a lot I mean much more than your average Joe to even get tipsy let alone drunk enough to have a raging hangover the next day. "How much did you drink?" I asked, eyeing him.

"Shh," he told me pouring himself some coffee. Feeling sorry for him I tossed him the packet of painkillers. "Thanks," He grumbled catching them.

I made myself an omelette and one for Michie and one for Wes who looked sad and miserable with his hangover.

"I can't believe I drank so much." He mumbled as I placed his plate in front of him. I put Michie's one in the oven to keep warm and scuffed mine down.

Once Michie decided to bless her presence upon us I went and showered ready for our catch up. We obviously weren't going to stay in here. When we were ready we headed out taking one of Zak's cars going into town, Michie drove to the next town over where she parked at the shopping centre. We walked around, for a bit doing a bit of shopping then headed to the coffee shop when we got tired. We sat drinking in silence.

"Spill," I ordered after a moment of silence.

"What?" She asked confused.

"Tell me what happened to you between now and the time I was gone."

"I could say the same for you," she retorted.

"You could and I would tell you freely however you won't so tell me, starting with Dan. What happened?"

"We broke up." She said with a shrug.

"Why, there has to be a reason."

She signed. "We weren't meant to be. We were both kidding ourselves. We were more best friend than anything else. We got together back in school because people said we looked good together. That's it nothing else. To continue our relationship we were kidding ourselves and that was fair to no one. Being with your mate is the best feeling, being with Dan was safe, secure a good feeling. Being with your mate you know they are it they are your undeniable other half, they scare the shit out of you, they are safe and secure and the best feeling in the world and at the same time, you're scared, insecure and it feels like you've been set on fire and that was something we didn't have. I wanted that and I want that for him, it stings a little being with someone so long and now you aren't but yeah I want be crazy in love, so consumed by it I don't know what hit me I want that kind of love and he wasn't it and we were drifting apart romantically and physically it eventually got to the point we were best friends just hanging out."

"How long for?"

"We ended things a little while after you left."

"Sorry."
