I woke up to an empty bed because of the unearthly amount of pressure on my bladder. Michie had a slept over like old times but was nowhere to be seen. I wanted to roll over and go back to sleep but if I ignored the pressure on my bladder one wrong move and I'd go right here right now. Mentally preparing myself I got up and made my way to my bathroom. There was no point going back into bed I knew there was no chance of falling asleep again.
I finished up and got dressed in a tiered dress and made my way down.
I messaged Michie where are you? When I couldn't find her. The house was quiet with Michie and the guys nowhere to be seen.
Had to attend the pack meeting. I frowned down at my phone I didn't realise non pack members had to attend the pack meetings. There usually was one in the mornings, most mornings anyways some were held in the evening. I had never gone to one, not that I needed to or ever wanted to, but I guess there was always a first. I headed to the mess halls where the meetings were held and pushed open the door slowly not many turned around, someone was speaking, and all eyes were on them.
I entered as quietly as I could scanning the room looking for familiar faces Wes was the first to catch my eye a smile broke out across his face and sent a wink my way. I smiled sending him a quick wave as I crept further into the room away from the door. I stayed at back taking an empty seat.
The meeting went on, a few of the council members voiced their concerns. Then Mac came up to the front, he stood tall, back straight to his full hight as he took centre stage, there was a hush that fell over the room, it was already quiet, but it felt as if everyone had stopped breaking. His eyes scanned the room before landing on me. He held my gaze as he spoke. He was in his element, speaking to his pack commanding their attention as he went over some points. His eyes eventually left mine but mine could leave him. The way he looked ever so regal on the stage, dressed in a crisp black suit made me clench.
The way he held himself was different from the day to day, using his full height demanded you look at him, he looked more so like a predator than ever and I was the prey and I've never wanted him more.
Finally, the alpha came up forcing me to tear my gaze away from Mac. Bill spotted me straight away. A small smile played on his lips, his gaze tore away from mine and to the crowd scanning the room before he began speaking.
"I'd like to formally welcome, members of the Coldide Pack, Eli Ade, Zak Mortimer, Michelle Kaire and my daughter Evelyn and her mate Finn Archer. We'll be hosting a formal dinner in honour of-
More like in honour of Eve, I switched off after that. Bill spoke of a while after that and the meeting came to an end.
"Breakfast?" I ask as Michie approached me exiting out the hall.
Her face lit up, "I'm starving." Linking her arm through mine she pulled me along as we headed to the kitchen to find it overflowing with the pack who were no doubt quickly grabbing something before heading off to work.
One by one the wolves trickled out the kitchen until it was just Michie and me left.
"My treat, I got this," Michie said grinning. Who was I to argue with Michie she's a great cook all around I was in for a treat! Besides, I was about to pour myself some cereal. I sat as I watched Michie preparing our breakfast. I watched her move seamlessly through the kitchen humming as she brought out eggs and cracked them into the bowl.
"What are you making?" I asked, my curiosity peaked when she separated the yoke from the egg whites.
"The fluffiest pancakes you'll ever have," she said over her shoulder as she focused.
