After I had snuck away from Mac and spoke with the Esmond twins a close eye was kept on me. The Alpha, Mac, Wes even their sister Alana was keeping an eye on me. They had made sure the entire time the Esmond twins and their pack had been here I was kept busy and far away from them as possible and they had succeeded as I hadn't managed to sneak in another word with them.  They had left a few days ago and to think that I had forgotten what they told me so boldly for the second time. You don't forget something like that, no one does.

"Earth to Cara," Wes snapped his fingers in front of my eyes gaining my attention.

"Yes?" I asked, it came out snippier than I had intended it to come out.

"What crawled up your arse and died?"

"Your brother." I grumbled as I picked up my speed walking down the corridor heading towards Bill's office.

"I don't think so," Wes stopped me turning me around, his hands on my shoulders guiding me towards the door. "I promised you I'll take you back to the orphanage and you are going nowhere but there." He let go of me once we were in the garage as he unlocked the BMW four wheel drive. "Your royal highness." He held the passenger side door open gesturing for me to get in. As I did he gave a slight bow and closed the door.

One of the way they had kept me distracted was by taking me to the orphanage on the outskirt of their little wolf town. I had told Wes once how I wanted to visit there and they used it to their advantage.

Wes started up the engine and drove out the garage and off the estate. I turned back to see the mansion grow smaller and smaller. The town was populated closer to the mansion, the housing became sparse and further spread out as we drove further away from the mansion and slower to the orphanage. Wes parked the car outside the orphanage. Every time this place took my breath away for all the wrong reasons, it was shabby broken down, neglected the only thing that was out of place was this small over crowded orphanage. It pissed me off, the alpha took care of everyone, they all had jobs that paid ridiculously well but to have an orphanage the home of the future pack broken down and neglected was unacceptable.

"Cara," Wes tugged at my arm. "Come on."

"Right," I said wrapping my arm around his for support I walked down the cobble pathway that lead to the house, on the second knock we were greeted by one of the older children.  "Hi, Casey." Her face lit up.

"Cara," She squealed. "Wes." She said hugging us. She took a hold of my hand leading us into the house. "Maddie," she called on the top of the lungs.

"Sorry we couldn't come earlier." I said as I saw Maddie emerged from the kitchen.

"You're just in time," she said wiping her hands on her apron. "You can help with lunch." she gestured us to follow.

"We would've been here earlier if it weren't for Cara." Wes said washing his hands. I washed my hands flicking the water droplets on him.

"Not true at all, Wes insisted on doing his hair."

She chuckled, shaking her head. "Come on we got a lot to do."

"Where are the rest of the kids?" I asked following her.

"They're in the garden, playing we're going to have a picnic style lunch." Maddie said, with a faint smile on her lips. "My husband use to love them."

I helped greasing the baking tray lightly and lined it up with fish fingers, veggie fingers and chicken strips which I sprayed lightly with sunflower oil and put on the oven.  Maddie was a pretty women and a stubborn woman too she stood on her own two feet always and it was one of the reason for not taking charity from the alpha. This was her life, raising these kids who had no one left, with no income coming in to support them or her. The money that came for the children went to their individual bank accounts left untouched until they were eighteen. There was an annual fund raiser which would raise money for the orphanage which usually would suffice for the year.
