The scream faded my mouth still remained open I blinked several times forcing myself to focus. The figure continued to walk towards me, I forced myself up into a sitting position as I scrambled away across the bed and off the bed. I thrashed in the arms of my saviour, he saved me from landing on the ground hurting my baby. He held me to his body restraining me.

"What is going on?" His voice rumbled through his body, his tone clear with authority.

He put me down as I had calmed down setting me on the ground next to him. Everything was clear and normal, there wasn't anything here, no supernatural beings no freaks of nature nothing of the sort, except the alpha, Mac and a crowd hovering at the doorway.

"What are you doing to her?" He asked furious. "We have an important meeting in five and you're here?"

"What?" He asked. "I came here with her clothes and she woke up screaming bloody murder."

"No, no, no," I said. "You-your face it-it wasn't your face."

He looked at me like I've lost my mind. I was beginning to wonder if I had too.

Wes had now come in after getting the crowd that had gathered to disappear and whispered to the alpha.

"What?" He asked starring at Wes like he was about to get in trouble for breaking a five thousand pound ceramic vase. He turned to Mac. "We will deal with this later. The pack have already arrived."

"I thought they're coming tomorrow."

"Apparently they've decided to come early." The alpha sighed. "The entire pack should be downstairs now so they'll be getting a quick heads up."

"What about her?" Mac said gesturing towards me.

He looked at me and sighed. "She's burning up with a temperature, I'll have someone keep an eye on her while you attend the meeting. Let's go," he said heading to the door but stopped on hearing the doorbell he turned to face his sons. "No time for the notice then," he said and headed out the door with Wes and Mac hot on his trail.

Not too long after they had left nurse Carla came to my room she immediately walked over to me placing the back of her hand on my forehead. "You're burning up." She said as she ushered me to the bathroom and started to run a bath. "I need you to get in it now." She ordered.

I starred at her. "No, I'm not having a cold bath."

"You have to, we need to tame your temperature?"

"Why?"

"Listen to me, I'm doing this for you." She said calmly. "You can possibly lose your child."

"What?"

"A temperature like this during a pregnancy isn't good. It's a risk to you and your unborn baby."

She needn't to say no more I got into the tub with my clothes on. The cold water felt amazing against my hot skin. I sunk in loving the feeling. She turned the tap off once the water had filled the tub.

I had been in here only a few minutes and the amazing feeling went away and I became uncomfortable again. She frowned as she walked to the tub and dipped her hand in and shook her head.

Moments later there was a knock on the bathroom door. "Come in," Carla called.

One of the boys from the pack came in with a bag of ice. "What's the ice for?"
