I had spent the better half of the day watching crappy day time TV. I had stopped once the icy blue eyes kept popping up in my head.
Laila's eyes and Enzo's are so similar, it was as if looking into the same person. Enzo's were a tad bit darker while hers were shade lighter. They had to be related some way or another. I don't even know their last name. But the two are something else altogether.
They both kissed me and when Laila did it felt as if something entered me and my mind went blank, I can't remember after that and when Enzo did it felt as if something lifted and I passed out just as I did with Laila. What the heck is going on? There are shape shifters and werewolves and hunters who's to say there aren't any other creatures out there.
This really doesn't make sense. And my child mind linking that's not normal. Sending off stress signals especially when they're in the womb still.
The shrill of my ringing phone pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Hello?" I answered.
"What have you done?" Mac growled.
"I haven't done anything!" I said unsure.
"Don't play coy with me, then explain to me why I can't get pass here."
"Passed where?" I asked.
"Look out and see for yourself."
"Okay, stay where you are." I said getting up.
"Are you trying to be funny?"
"No," I snapped going to the window. I saw Mac stood outside half way on the front garden unable to step forward "what the fuck." I muttered to myself. What could possibly cause that? "Zak got in and out just fine. Wait, there let me just call him " I said hanging up.
I dialled Zak's number, he picked up on the third call. "Hello?"
"Zak get here quickly, hurry it's important." I rushed out hanging up.
Zak had appeared in wolf form in no time at all in front of the house and shifted back. Just as it happened to Mac, he was stuck he couldn't move any further it was as if there was some barrier stopping him.
"What is going on?" Zak asked.
"What the fuck?" I asked Mac as soon as he picked up. I opened the front door, I couldn't step passed the threshold. "I'm stuck in here."
"...Witches.." I heard him mutter.
"What witches?" I asked over the line only to be met by silence. He had hung up in me. Looking up from my phone he was gone.
"I'll be back," Zak said and left if the same direction as Mac.
I closed the door and began pacing I was stuck in the house alone, and Mac said something about witches. What the heck could witches in possibly want with me?
Night had fallen when my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Cara, good you're okay?"
"I'm fine, what's going on?"
"I'll be staying at the pack house, the alpha has put guards on watch located around the house."
"Why is this happening?"
"They want revenge. Max has the same job as dad, they both have a long list of enemy's. We don't know who's doing it."
"Witches."
"Yeah, but which one?"
"Right, thanks." We hung up after a long stretch of silence.
