I woke in my bed, my body slightly aching from over sleeping. Stretching I got up and ran to the bathroom my bladder was about to burst. Relieving myself I carried out my morning routine and went back to my bedroom where I wrapped the dressing gown around me and went down stairs.

Halfway through breakfast the front door slammed shut and in front of me appeared my fuming father. Only if looks could kill.

"Where have you been?" He snapped.

"Good morning to you too, I'm just fine, thanks how about you?"

"Cara where were you, disappearing with Finn's car! Where did you go and stay? We scoured the entire town and the surrounding towns and you were nowhere to be found. And then you supposedly return the car back to Finn and return home and then disappear again only to come home in the dead of night!"

I stood up, I wasn't going to sit there and let him talk me down. "I was with Zak last night he took me out for food."

"And the night before?"

"I'm a grown women and you are not my keeper." I told him crossing my arms across my chest. To tell him the truth would do more harm than good, you never truly know who's listening.

There was a loud banging on the front door breaking up the tension as we silently looked between each other and the door. "We are not done here," he said as he went off to open the door.

"Where is she," the infamous voice I had familiarized myself with growled, "I know she's here I can smell her!"

It went quiet for a moment I couldn't hear him or my dad. Whatever was being said wasn't being said out loud. I went into the hallway to see he had crossed the threshold and stood growling in the hallway.

"You," he said pointing at me. "You are coming with me." It wasn't a question or demand but a statement he said it as if it was sealed in concrete.

Outside, several tires came to a screeching halt, the blur of motion Zak entered the house without hesitation he grabbed a hold of Mac and threw him into the living room where he went flying through the air landing in the fireplace. The force impact was enough to have the wall crumble.

Zak didn't give Mac a chance to recover before grabbing him by the scuff and pulling him up to his feet. "She is going nowhere!" He snarled in his plaster covered face.

"I think that's enough now boys." I was too focused of Zak and Mac to notice Evelyn's father had joined us.

He turned to face me, "you have a knack for disappearing." He said with a slight smile. "Like father like daughter," he added. "He taught you well."

"What?" I asked confused. "He taught me nothing, if he did I would've mastered it like a fine piece of art. People would pay to watch me disappear."

He starred at me then laughed regaining himself. "I like her," he said to no one in particular. "Now boys," he said stepping into the living room. "Let's not be so barbaric, if you would."

Zak dropped Mac to the ground carelessly yet Mac managed to land on his feet gracefully. Zak was by my side in a flash stand protectively in front of me.

"You are not taking my sister," Zak growled.

"Yes I am, she goes where I go!"

"I am not your property." I snapped.

"No, but the child you are carrying is mine and until the child is born you are my concern by extension but after that I don't care for what you do."
