"Xavier get the car," Dillon demanded. I opened my eyes to see his eyes were still locked on Eli. Xavier hesitated, but eventually let go of my arm. Caden quickly moved behind me to wrap his arms around me for a better hold, in case I tried to run, i'm guessing. But I didn't. I didn't move. I couldn't. I was too scared. I just stared at Eli, who couldn't seem to meet my eyes. He kept his gaze locked on Dillon. His jaw clenching and his eyes becoming wilder as time went on.
I heard the car pull up behind me. Caden looked to Dillon who jerked his head backwards. Caden pulled me back with him as he and Dillon backed up toward the car. They kept their eyes on Eli. I then heard Dillon's words in my head, 'Ah, but she looks so fun. I think I might keep her for a while.'
They were kidnapping me!?
No. This was not happening. I felt my chest begin to rise and fall uncontrollably fast. I couldn't breathe. I was going to hyperventilate. Maybe pass out. Maybe both. I started to struggle against Caden who squeezed my waist from behind with one arm and grabbed my neck with the other to steady me. I let out a whimper.
The sound must have broke Eli. He finally moved. He ran toward me, but stopped mid run once again when Dillon pushed the gun to my temple. I heard what must have been Lea scream in the back, but she sounded miles away. Then, I heard the same scream muffled- by the hand of her brother I assume.
"Don't you dare move," Dillon threatened him. "Or I swear I will blow her brains out." He was pushing the gun to my temple, i felt my body shake. "Her blood will be on your hands," he said slowly. Eli let out another string or curses in a low growl.
I could feel Caden's wicked smile behind me. I bit my lip as it began to tremble along with my body. I knew the car was behind us. I continued to stare at the boy in front of me. Eli's dark hair was tousled falling onto his forehead and he had sweat glossing his neck and temples. His dark clothes and the tortured look on his face made him look like a piece of artwork.
I felt the tears finally begin to fall as I stared at him.
"Let's go," Dillon said to Caden. Caden spun me around to face him, and with the slight release on his hold i took my chance. I struggled against him, pushing at his chest until he caught me by my wrists. He cursed under his breathe just before he lifted his hand. I felt the heat corse through my cheek as I crumpled to the ground from the back of his hand.
"I told not to hurt her," Dillon growled just before the two doors slammed shut, but I didn't miss the deep chuckle coming from Caden's throat. I heard heavy foot steps sprint past me toward the car, but the tires had already spun out of reach.
Another string of curses followed, louder this time. I stayed on all fours, staring down at the side walk, and watched my tears hit the concrete.
Eli dropped down beside me just as everyone in the party finally broke from the silent trance they had been in. There was a thrum through the night air, people arguing, running, walking, and gossiping, all making my head pound.
Eli stretched out his hands to me hesitantly, but I flinched back. I don't know why I did, I knew it wasn't his fault. I knew he hadn't hurt me, i knew he didn't even know I would be hurt tonight at all. But somehow I still felt hurt by the fact that he had let this happen. I saw his face crumble. That self hatred I saw last night weighed 3 tons more tonight. He dropped his hands and stood. I sat back and hugged my knees to my chest.
I heard his voice boom over everyone else's, cursing and forcing everyone to leave. Threatening for them all to mind their own business, swearing he'd kill any of them who came near me or whispered my name.
My heart fluttered at him gallantly threatening everyone for me. Stupid heart. Seriously? After everything I just went through tonight for him you're still going to act like that!? Apparently my heart didn't care how long I lived.
