"What do you mean he's going to be giving me a ride?" I growled at my brother.

"Rai," my brother sighed. "We don't have a choice," he said again. "You guys are going to the same place anyways," he stated the obvious, as we argued over Eli giving me a ride to school tomorrow. "Plus he offered," my brother shrugged as if stabbing me in the back was no big deal at all. Nice bro, nice.

My Saturday plans were ruined by the fact that Jonny couldn't seem to get his truck started and and had Eli of all people over here helping him all day. I didn't go outside. Jonny somehow could only find my ex, the one who in fact had a role in my father's death, to help him. It was amazing really, how they could go about their days as if nothing ever happened. Eli had been training with Jonny, I knew it, I just preferred not to acknowledge it. But now, my brothers top pick to be my chauffeur was the boy who broke every piece of my until I was a damaged mess. I refused to allow this.

"He offered huh?" I grumbled. "Yeah well the creepy old dude up the street offered to give me a ride home too," my arms flailed dramatically around me. "I don't see you encouraging me to hop in his van," I snapped. My brother turned from where he had been washing his hands in the kitchen sink and gave me a look full of concern.

"Who?" he asked completely oblivious.

He has to be trying to irk me. I know it. I let out a frustrated grunt before walking away without answering his question.

"I'm calling D, she'll give me a ride," I snapped. "Or- or I'll ride the bus!" I headed for the stairs wondering what D would say if I call her and asked her to give me a ride to and from school until Jonny's truck was finished.

Would that be selfish to ask her? Maybe I could.. I was drawing a blank when I walked into my room and sighed a big and heavy sigh. Just then my phone buzzed.

Hey.. How are you?

The hesitancy in the text was evident. I sat down on my bed and thought about the boy whose name was at the top of my screen.

Kameron.

I hadn't spoken to him since the fight night. I knew this day would come, and I would have to face the issue here, but I am not prepared, not yet.

I'm okay, you?

My response was vague. I couldn't decide if answering him was a bad idea or not. I mean, last time I saw him I found out that he had helped Rock's guys follow me.. I still didn't understand why, and though the thought was intriguing, part of me knew even toying with it was a bad idea.

Kam: Been better.

I didn't respond right away, I wasn't sure what to say. We all had seen better days at this point.

Kam: Can we talk? With everything going on I want to make sure you're okay.

Kam: And apologize..

I sighed.

Me: Maybe tomorrow after school? I'll need a ride home.

I couldn't deny that I did want to know what was going on in his head..

Kam: Great! I will pick you up by the office! :)

The excitement behind his message made that part of me that was worried about this multiply. I was chewing the skin around my nails when Jonny burst into my room.

"What did that girl say?" he asked as he looked around the room.

"Hm?" I tried to pull my thoughts away from how bad it would be for Eli to see me with Kam. Even if it wasn't like that and we weren't together anymore, guilt was rising from the pit of my stomach.
