Every muscle in my body tensed up as I waited for him to continue, when he didn't I bobbed my head slowly in reply.

"How?"

Raising an eyebrow I waited to see if he was serious, after a moments silence I answered truthfully, "my parents are werewolves."

"I can see that, but they never told you... Why you're different?"

"I don't think any of us ever knew How exactly. They never really mentioned our ancestors but I know that they looked into it for answers and found nothing."

"Do you're siblings know?"

"Of course."

"Does anyone else?"

"No it's too dangerous if others knew."

"I can see why." He trailed off, his eyes moving to my hair but I remained still, "it's too dangerous for you to continue this life Sasha. It's too dangerous for your family."

Straight to the point huh.

I stared in silence, what was he trying to do by telling me something I already knew?

"You need a pack." yeah, right.

"Dad says we don't and packs aren't safe."

"Join my pack Sasha." Fat chance.

I couldn't help the bubble of laughter that escaped my throat. Laughing loudly I wiped a tear from my eye and pulled the shirt down with the other. Once I had regained my senses I smiled at the man.

"What makes you think my family would agree?"

"You do know most Alphas won't ask you to join. How long till someone else comes along? I've heard your family have turned down many offers to join packs. Ones smaller than ours I must say but still a lot of Alphas are interested in the legendary Oakley's."

"Including you? Or have you found something else you want to put a leash on." I pulled my legs up to my chest wrapping my arms around them and covering myself as much as I could while curling into a small ball.

The smile fell from his face and was replaced with a serious expression.

"I don't want to leash you Sasha; I'm not going to parade you through the werewolf society like a prize. I'm interested in your family's history yes. And I can offer you protection, if you do not wish anyone to know about you, even my own pack mates; I give you my word not to tell."

"If anyone finds out the truth, I can't stay with my family." I muttered squeezing my arms tighter around me knees.

"Then let me help you."

My head rose slowly at his words and I saw a kind smile on his face.

"If I don't, you'll tell?" I raised an eyebrow, and smirked sadly.

He laughed, creating crinkles around his eyes, "Maybe."

"That sounds a lot like blackmail."

"More like negotiations." He grinned at me and I couldn't help but smile back.

"Negotiations huh?" I muttered to myself resting my chin on top of my knees.

"Sasha. This isn't just about you it's also about your family."
