Your Friend, My Friend

Chaeyoung came to the boutique that morning wearing a black sunglasses smiling as she greeted her employees who were doing their work. There were not many customers since it was just opened an hour ago. So, it was normal for her to see the boutique not crowded at that kind of time.

However, that day was a bit different when she heard some chuckling and voices at the table near the fitting room. So, she took a look and saw Jennie with Lisa were talking with someone. She walked near them as she greeted them who did not realize she already came.

"Good morning, Jennie, Lisa.", she said as she saw them turning around to see her. At that time, she saw someone else behind them and tried to see the person clearly. Once she recognised who it was, her eyes grew big in surprise. "Good morning, Rosie!", both of the girls replied in unison before laughing at themselves.

Her view was interrupted by Jennie who stood up and told her that Jungkook was not that bad. Chaeyoung frowned upon her words before excusing herself to go to her room. Jennie tried calling Chaeyoung but she did not listen. She looked at Jungkook and saw him smiling faintly.

"Let me go talk to her. Lisa, keep Jungkook around here.", she said before leaving. Lisa nodded and continued talking with Jungkook like nothing happened. Luckily Lisa was so cheerful so she easily clicked with Jungkook.

Jennie knocked on Chaeyoung's door and entered once she was allowed by Chaeyoung. She slowly opened the door and entered in as she looked at Chaeyoung. "Rosé, are you angry with me?", she asked while standing behind the chair in front of Chaeyoung's desk.

Chaeyoung shook her head as she opened her black sunglasses. Jennie saw her puffy eyes and asked if she was okay in which she quickly said yes. "Don't worry. It's nothing serious, Jen.", she assured Jennie who was looking worriedly at her. "I don't believe you.", Jennie said.

"Jennie, I'm okay. Seriously. And... seriously, how can you and Lisa talk so casually with Jungkook? Since when you guys became close?", Chaeyoung changed the topic quickly. She actually wanted to know if Jungkook had brainwashed her friends using his power because she knew he can do it.

Jennie laughed a bit at her question before saying that Jungkook was kind and funny. So, they easily hit it off with him. Chaeyoung did not understand so she asked what Jungkook told her when she was not there so Jennie answered her. But, she still cannot believe it and trusted her instinct saying he manipulated their minds.

When Jennie asked her to join them talking with Jungkook, she refused as she got a lot of work to do. Jennie tried asking many times but she sticks to her decision. So, Jennie left her and continued chatting with Jungkook who had a lot of story to tell her and Lisa.

Chaeyoung stretched her hands up in the air as she looked at the time on her laptop. It was already lunch time but she did not realize it before that. Just when she puts down her hands, her door is knocked and she told the person knocking to come inside.

"Oh, Chanyeol. Annyeong.", she said as she stood up from her chair. He did not come in and stood close to the door asking if she was still busy. "Pretty much. Why? You're going to ask me to lunch with you, is it?", Chaeyoung asked him back and he nodded. He also told her there were a lot of food at the table and was thinking if she wanted to share.

Just like that, Chaeyoung followed Chanyeol to the table and saw Lisa was still there. Before she could ask Lisa if Jennie had left, she heard Jennie's voice coming from the entrance door with Jungkook. "Why is he still here?!", Chaeyoung thought.

"Oh, Rosé! Finally you come out. Come on, let's have lunch with us. These are all bought by Jungkook. Let's eat, okay?", Jennie said as she puts down the plastics of food on the table. Chaeyoung turned to look at Chanyeol who was ready to be glared at by her.

"You tricked me, Channie.", she said to Chanyeol realising that they planned to get her out of her room. She could just read their minds before but she did not do it. She did not feel right to do that to her friends. So, she kept thinking positive of them all.

Then, she saw Chanyeol mouthing 'sorry' to her before she looked at Jungkook. He was so relaxed as if nothing happened between them last night. He dared to show up in front of her by trying to win her friends' hearts and he really did it. For a while, Chaeyoung felt so defeated by him.

After Chaeyoung had done eating, she quickly went to the pantry at the back to wash her hands and mouth. At that time, Jungkook came and she knew it by the wind that suddenly passed behind her. She did not turn around as she asked what else he wanted from her.

"Nothing. I just...", Chaeyoung cut him off before he could end his words. She turned around angrily as she said, "Nothing? Then, why are you here? Why are you talking to my friends?" Jungkook nodded to her before answering her question calmly. "Because you hated me and I wanted to change that. But you kept telling me to leave you. So, I had to do this. Make friends with your friends.", he told her.

"By doing that, I still could get close to you. And maybe could make you stop hating me.", he added as he took a step forward closer to her. She felt uncomfortable with their distance but she cannot get back any further as the sink countertop was just behind her.

She stared into his eyes as she asked him to give way but he shook his head. The staring between them gotten much intense as Jungkook moved his face forward while Chaeyoung kept pushing herself back from being too close to him. Suddenly, Chanyeol came to the pantry calling Chaeyoung's name making Jungkook moved back from her.

He stood still while Chaeyoung took the advantage of the open space to walk away from there. "You okay, Rosé?", Chanyeol managed to ask her before she got out of the pantry and she stopped for a while. "I am. Excuse me, Chanyeol.", she said as she walked away from there.
