Soulmate

"Chaeyoungggg!!!", the voice made Chaeyoung startled and stopped typing on the keyboard. "What was that?", she asked herself as she looked around. She was sure she heard a voice shouting her name but it sounded so far.

"Help me.", she heard again but this time she recognised the voice and quickly left her office.

Chanyeol was standing close to the door when it opened revealing Chaeyoung behind him. He moved to the side when Chaeyoung came forward seeing Jungkook on the floor. "Jungkook?! Chanyeol, what did you do?", she asked as she got down to check on Jungkook.

"Are you his soulmate?", Chanyeol said ignoring her question. She tried to wake Jungkook by patting on his shoulder but he did not move. "What did you do to him?! Why is he pale and not moving?!", Chaeyoung shouted at Chanyeol as her tears started to fill her eyes.

"Feed him your blood. That's the cure.", Chanyeol said before he closed the door behind them. Chaeyoung quickly showed her fangs out and bit open her wrist letting her blood flows out. Then, she gave it to Jungkook's mouth as she helped him to take in her blood.

Chaeyoung closed the door of the guest room and go to the living room. There, she sat on the sofa opposite the one Chanyeol was sitting at while looking at him quietly. She saw he was about to say something but she stopped him before he could.

"Care to tell me why you made him drink the poison?", she asked as she knew what drink he gave Jungkook. "I'm sorry, Rosé. But, you seem to hate him so much. So, I thought he's a vampire too who probably turned you to a vampire and that's why you hate him.", Chanyeol answered her.

She quickly turned to look at Chanyeol's eyes as she nodded. "Yes, he's the one who turned me. But, I don't hate him.", she cleared up his misunderstanding. "If you don't hate him...why you look like you always avoiding him?", Chanyeol asked as he was still confused of her actions towards Jungkook.

"I...feel disappointed with him. He came too late to find me.", she told Chanyeol the truth on why she was avoiding Jungkook. "But...you two are soulmates. He could have found you easily actually.", Chanyeol replied to Chaeyoung who frowned upon his words.

"What...is this... soulmate thing? I don't get it.", Chaeyoung said as she asked him what he meant. Chanyeol then, nodded in understanding of her lack of knowledge of her vampire self. And he, being the descendant of the vampire hunter knows a lot about vampires. All because he liked to study what his ancestors were great at.

"Soulmate in the vampire community is a unique role which is very uncommon but it's possible. When you found your soulmate, you can summon them even though you're far from them and you couldn't call their name out loud. It's actually an advantage. If you are in trouble, you can summon the other just by communicating through their mind.", Chanyeol explained it to her.

"Oh, so... Jungkook called me by talking into my mind, like that?", Chaeyoung asked to be sure. Chanyeol nodded before saying sorry for what he did to Jungkook. "I judged him for being the evil one too quick. Luckily he managed to call you there.", he added.

Chaeyoung nodded before telling Chanyeol it was not his fault. He judged Jungkook like that because of her too. Because of how she treated Jungkook. She told him he just did what he thought was right. She knew he was just trying to help her and she did not blame him for it.

After the conversation, Chanyeol excused himself to leave her house and she followed him to the door. When Chanyeol stepped out from the house, she called his name and said that she has a question to ask him since he knows a lot about vampires.

"If...a vampire's soulmate is a normal human, can they still summon their soulmate?", she asked as she has doubt about it in a sudden. "Yes but their soulmate couldn't come as fast as vampires do. That's a bit of disadvantage if a vampire falls in love with a human.", he answered her.

"Oh. Okay.", she replied in short as she was thinking of herself and Jungkook. "Oh, there's one more question.", she added as she signalled Chanyeol to wait once again. "Is there a reason why a vampire can't find his soulmate easily? Like...an obstacle or something?", she asked him.

Chanyeol thought for a while before nodding to her. "Yes, the reason could be because there is another vampire blocking that vampire's power to summon their soulmate. If I'm not wrong, that is the reason.", he said as he looked at Chaeyoung's gloomy face.

He called her name and she quickly said 'yes' to him, not wanting him to see her getting lost in her thoughts. "Were those questions about you and Jungkook?", he asked her but she quickly retorted by saying she was just asking out of curiosity since he knew a lot about vampires.

He saw her face was turning red and he chuckled at her reaction. When she started to hit his shoulder, he apologized and asked her to stop hitting him in which she did. But, she kept pouting as she looked at him. "Rosé, you don't have to worry about him now. You've fed him your blood. He'll be fine but it depends on the time. The longest it will take could be up to a day. So, don't worry, okay?", Chanyeol reassured her.

"Do I...look worried?", Chaeyoung asked as she tried to look relaxed. But to Chanyeol, he knew she was damn worried about Jungkook. "You do, Rosé. You look so worried about him.", he said as he chuckled at her who tried to cover her face with her hands. "Go now. You're making me embarrassed of myself, Chanyeol. Goodbye!", Chaeyoung said as she pushed Chanyeol away and closed the door on him.
