Chapter 10

SOPHIES POV:

I wanted to take my mind of things, have fun for a chance instead of feeling so uptight and pressured. So when I got the text from Zayn asking me to hang out, I took the opportunity. Something told me that Zayn felt the need to let loose as well. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to be a full time prince.

I decided not to tell Niall about it. I couldn't remember a day where he wasn't right next to me. Of course I love every minute of Niall's company, but I needed to explore my options. You know, hang out with other people too? I really wish I had a friend that was a girl right now. When I think about it, my only friends were guys. But I do have Jane and she's probably gonna have to do.

My patterned leggings were hanging on my dressing table chair. I wriggled them on and threw a loose pink t-shirt over the top. If you knew me well enough, you'd know that I change my fashion sense all the time. You could see me wearing a flowy dress one minute, and ripped jeans with studded heels the next. I guess that made me unique.

After completely straightening my hair and tying it up into a high pony tail, I put on a touch of makeup and slid on my black lace up boots. I had to admit, I looked pretty good. Zayn was picking me up and taking me to the movies. Come to think of it, I hadn't been to the cinemas in such a long time. So I felt a little excited.

*Ding dong*

I didn't know why I was a little nervous, but I was. My stomach quickly fluttered with butterflies, but as soon as they came, they went. I took my time going down the stairs and shouted bye to anyone who was left in the house. To be honest though, I didn't know who was home anyway.

"Remember what we spoke about!" I heard Mitchell call behind me. I laughed at his protective side then slowly and dramatically opened the front door.

The first thing I noticed was the sun beaming in my eyes. The weather was absolutely perfect today. Zayn stood in front of me with his head facing the ground. As soon as he noticed that I had opened the door, he slowly glanced up and lit up when he saw me.

"Hey Sophie." He greeted charmingly.

"Hi Zayn." I smiled at him. I couldn't take my eyes off of his; they were just so beautiful and brown.

"Ready to go? Sorry if I'm a little early." He said.

"No, you're not early!" I assured him, "And yeah I'm ready."

He hesitantly reached for my hand, but put it back to his side. He probably remembered that I 'have a boyfriend'. But as soon as I thought about that, I remembered the text message again. It specifically said to get out of the marriage. What it didn't stay, was keep away from Zayn. So technically, I wasn't doing anything wrong.

Though, it still shook me that I could be getting watched by anything or anyone this instant. You know what? Stuff it. I just want to have some fun. Instead of taking my hand, Zayn reached for my arm and bent his elbow so that our arms were linked. We made our way to his car and I was a little stunned when I didn't see any of his bodyguards.

"Where are your bodyguards?" I asked, curiously.

"I told them not to come. I wanted to get to know the real you, without them pressuring you. You know?" he reasoned and faced me.

"Yeah. But aren't you afraid that someone might spot you?"

"No one has so far." He mentioned and shrugged his shoulders. Good point.

He opened the car door for me and I climbed in. I flashed him a smile to thank him as he walked around and got into the seat beside me. This was going to be my first day with Zayn without any of his bodyguards or Niall. A chance to actually get to know him and for him to find out anything he can about me. And I wasn't going to hold back.
