A/N: Be sure to read the authors note at the end, I have an important question! :)
Chapter 26
SOPHIE'S POV:
"So tell me everything." My mother leaned inwards on one of the lounges. She was sitting beside my father and Zayn's parents sat on the lounge to their left, so that they could see them. The rest of us were sitting on chairs, making us all scattered into the shape of a circle.
"Hmm… What's to tell?" Louis asked, searching for something to say.
"Okay, I'll start." I budded in, "Over a decade ago, when I got here, I made a friend." I gestured to Niall who was sitting by my left, "You know him. His name is Niall. Um. We're very good friends actually." I played around in my mind whether I should tell them or not. No, not yet. I felt Niall's foot shift and tap me uncomfortably. Something had suddenly come over me - this whole new attitude. I didn't know if I liked it, but I couldn't stop. I didn't know why I let my parents get to me, they weren't so special. So I'd treat them that way.
"Years and years down the track," I continued, "Last week, actually! I found out that he was my bodyguard." A sarcastic grin spread across my face as my parents facial expressions dropped into a frown, "But I'm over that. I'm used to disappointment and lies--"
"Sophie." Jane interrupted me.
I ignored her and went on, "Then, the girl who has been sending me threatening messages finally shows up. She took her time, huh? And it was all because she was obsessed with the boy that I'm being forced to marry. The one you picked, the sexy one, right mum? Oh, and I've been to the hospital more than one should in less than a month."
"But enough about me," I shook my head playfully, "How have you two been?"
Everyone sat there speechless - disappointment and shock written all over their faces. It really did sound horrible when I summed if up like that, and that was what I was aiming for. Though I did miss a few details, they got the point. It felt good to feel powerful, the feeling that they've felt for a very long time. Even though my hands were shaking because of my whole speech.
My father stood up from the lounge and made his way over to me. His dull, emotionless eyes stuck on mine the whole time. "Follow me."
I obediently stood up and waved behind me as everyone else's mouths gaped open from what they just experienced. Since he had no clue about this house, which was no surprise, he took me straight into the spare bedroom which came off the lounge room. He shut the door behind us and his straight lined lips didn't move or even twitch.
"What's up?" I raised my eyebrows. There wasn't much my father could do to me. What, lock me up in a dungeon? Chop my head off and put it on a stick?
"What the bloody hell was that?" His deep English voice echoed. Outside the door, I heard a whole bunch of footsteps quickly scatter and I noticed shadows form beneath the door. How immature.
"You wanted to know everything." I explained rudely, "I just gave you the major events."
"Your mother and I came down here to finally see our children, who we haven't seen in a long--"
"Time." I finished the sentence, "A very long time."
"Let me talk." He said sternly. I shut my mouth, though the only reason I did was because of what Mitchell told me. I should let him speak and listen. So that's what I planned to do. I nodded to let him know to continue. "We wanted to stitch back together our relationship with the both of you. Louis seems to be trying, why can't you?"
