As the first round of the exams went underway, [name] and everyone else from Class1A had managed to pull themselves together and defeat their opponents. Although they were scattered right at the beginning, the aspiring heroes had done their best to work as a team no matter what. From more than a thousand applicants, all the students from Aizawa's class had been included in the top 100 that will advance through the next part of the exams.
The teen had managed to put her quirk to good use by supporting her classmates. She had not dared use her quirk against the enemy schools since she clearly felt that there was something bothering her. Despite the help of everyone, she had no intention of putting them in danger if ever the possibility of her losing focus came.
For the second and last part, the lavish setting of the exam location's terrain had started crumbling apart. The event had made the ground tremor the same way as Shindo from Ketsubutsu used his quirk from earlier. Their new task was to do the actual job of heroes and that was to be able to rescue people. They would be graded depending on their efficiency and performance.
All of Class 1A had a rough start with their rescues but as they progressed, they managed to pull their wits together and think properly of the task at hand. The only thing that stood out in this part of the exam was the kind of experience that the higher years had over the first years.
[name] had accompanied Midoriya and their first rescuee back to the camp that the others had formed. She had used her experience with helping Hagakure, Kyouka and the other students from Class1B in an attempt to help out. The teen took the initiative to offer help to the other schools that were at camp. She wasn't the healer type like Recovery Girl but her quirk would be more than enough to ease the victims' pain even just a bit.
By remembering all the information that she had read from various books about first aid and the tips from the Youthful Heroine, [name] had efficiently aided several casualties. At the same time, she kept reminding herself of the great extent that her guardian has done in order to help her. It was enough motivation to keep her going despite the fatigue she had felt.
The child's mind was filled with all kinds of thoughts and wonders. Even if it was an exam, she viewed the situation as an actual rescue. Families, friends, loved ones, civilians, her co-heroes... to lose even just one of them would lead her to despair. Because of her quirk and using her feelings to emphatize with the victims, the extent of her quirk became greater that even the other schools felt it.
Ten minutes into the rescue, an explosion startled everyone. They knew that the scenario played out to them was a large scale terrorist attack the same as what happened at Kamino Ward but what they didn't expect was an actual attack that would be played out during the exam. The hero candidates at the scene should be able to continue their rescue efforts while suppressing the villains.
Many had to admit that even for the provisional exams, the management was going too far that even a pro would have a hard time dealing with it. But the top 10 hero Gang Orca - who acted as the main villain, along with his men - had started charged in and pressed them to a decision. To fight or to protect? To help or to run?
At that moment she knew what the purpose if her new chance in life was. With her current physical state and abilities, even if she did improve, it wouldn't be enough in the front lines. She had to become a hero that can support those who could fulfil the role that she couldn't. She had to be someone that could lessen the burden that was on another's shoulders even just a bit. Either it was to be a regular citizen or a pro hero, she didn't care as long as it meant that she can save a life the same way as Aizawa had saved her's.
Observing from afar, Aizawa had managed to watch [name] in action. The pro never doubted her ability to adapt and make steadfast decisions in seconds. He just hoped that [name] would be able to do the same when the time that she had to decide for her own future came. And for some reason, an exasperated sigh left his lips that made his green haired companion notice the change in his mood from annoyed to gloomy.
"You worried about her?", Emi asked with a grin. "Oh cmon. No need to be embarrassed. I heard from Midnight that you're taking care of a child. Hope you haven't done anything villain-like to an innocent little girl"
The man's eyebrows furrowed and twitched. He cursed under his breath and was determined to go and scold his talkative co-teacher about it. "How much do you know?"
The female beamed as she had finally caught the man's attention. "Oh not that much. Just some slanderous tales that can ruin your career--"
"There's not", the pro immediately interjected as he regretted ever asking.
"You do know that there are protocols that we have to follow about cases just like yours. As much as possible, you shouldn't become so attached to the kid. But by seeing how much you care for your current students, I guess it'll be harder for you, huh?"
The raven haired man desperately tried to avert his gaze and attention back to the exams but his mind was contradicting what he felt. It was illogical for him to have feelings of attachment towards temporary people. When tomorrow comes, even if [name] didn't agree with Shinobu's adoption there would certainly be people that would take her in in the near future. It was an inevitable outcome either way.
Aizawa just shrugged and looked at his companion, visibly pissed by his inner conflict. "I don't know what you're talking about"
