Alex ran to John's house.
He didn't have any other way there.
They didn't live terribly far from one another, though it was still at a distance.
He made it eventually and just allowed himself in, seeing John sitting on the bottom step of the stairs, crying into his hands.
Alex quickly rushed to his side, holding him so tightly it felt like he could break.
John looked up at Alex and wrapped his arms around his neck, sobbing in his chest.
"She's gone!" He cried as Alexander held him, kissing his head repeatedly.
"Shh, it's okay. She's in a better place, Jacky." He whispered, not liking the sight of John. He hardly ever saw him cry and he had never seen him cry this much.
John shook his head. "I-I can't believe she's gone! It's been three days and it just feels so... wrong!" He said loudly into Alex's chest, who just kept him held tightly.
Alex couldn't think of anything else to say. He just held him and whispered sweet things to him before he started telling a story.
"Remember that time in seventh grade when we tried to buy cigarettes with that ID we found laying on the ground outside?" Alexander said, wanting to distract John. It was the only thing he could think to do.
John nodded a bit. "Y-Yeah..." he whispered, sniffling.
Alexander gave a sad smile. "And remember when we snuck into the water park and the guards told us they were going to take us to kid jail?" He also said
John gave a small, almost non existent smile. "Yeah. We were terrified." He whispered, tired and sad, though this did help.
Alexander gave a small chuckle. "Yes, we were." He said gently.
"My favorite, though, was when me, you, Laf, and Hercules all jumped on that train and we ended up traveling to Georgia."
John giggled a little, looking up at Alexander. His face was still stained with tear marks but right then, they were like tattoos on his face.
"Thank you." He whispered, very quietly.
Alexander nodded and kissed John's head. "No problem, Jacky..." he whispered back, picking him up and carrying him to one of the guest rooms.
He laid on the bed, putting John on top of him and then the blankets.
Alexander wasn't big on cuddling with friends
But he was sure John needed it tonight
