Friends... Plus a little extra (Lams)

Friends

Alexander woke up before anyone else though he stayed where he was, arms wrapped around John from behind. He looked around the room, not getting a good look of it the day before.

He saw three picture frames, one with the word 'Live,' one with the word 'Laugh,' and one more with the word 'Love.'

Alex gently moved from John, careful not to wake him up.

He moved to the picture frames, smiling at the images in them.

I'm the Live frame, it was a picture of John, Hercules, Lafayette, and Alex at Time Square when they went there to tour Columbia a few years back.

In the Laugh frame, it was a picture of him and his little sister Martha giving silly faces. John had his eyes shut and his tounge out while Martha had a fishy face and her hands beside her ears.

Those two pictures made Alex smile. He looked at the love frame. It had a picture from the end of the summer. It had Alex laying down in a recliner with John in his lap, snuggled to his chest. They both looked to be sleeping. He assumed Lafayette took the picture since it looked to be his house in the background. He would get John to send it to him later.

He hummed and observed more, seeing more pictures, some of his art, and even his diploma.

He smiled happily before hearing John whine and sit up.

Alexander looked over and joined a now awake John on the bed. "Good morning." He hummed.

John glared at him before mumbling a tired "good morning."

Alexander gave a quiet laugh. "Aww, is someone tired?" He asked, standing up.

John whined and nodded. He wasn't a morning person, especially after working late.

Alex just rolled his eyes, a smile on his face. "Come on, let's get dressed and go get breakfast for everyone." He said, tossing John s pair of sweatpants and one of his hoodies, since it was cold out.

Alexander put on a warm pair of pajama pants and a sweater he brought. It wasn't like they were going to Red Lobster or something. John put the clothes on, standing up and stretching.

They both slipped on shoes and Alex grabbed John's car keys, who grabbed his wallet.

It was 10:30 in the morning so breakfast was still being served at Burger King, which is where they went, getting food for everyone and returning.

Everyone was awake when the got back to the dorm. John sat on the couch bed with Lafayette and ushered Herc and Alex to join. They both did.

John grabbed the food and handed them each something. "So, I've got to be at the showcase at three. No guest are allowed until five." He explained, taking a bite of his food.

Hercules nodded. "We're really proud of you dude. This is like... a big deal." Lafayette and Alex nodded in agreement.

"Oui, that's why we all pitched in and got you something." Lafayette said, reaching over and pulling out a box from his bag.

"You guys- you shouldn't have-" John started, gently taking the gift.

"Just open it, John. You deserve it." Hercules said with a smile.

John opened the box and smiled brightly. "Oh my gosh- you really shouldn't have-" He said.

Alexander shook his head. "Your laptop is old and keeps breaking when we FaceTime. You needed a new one." He smiled, kissing John's cheek.

John just looked at it before looking at them, hugging them all at once. "Thank you guys."

"John, you deserve it. You've gone through a lot this year but you're still at the top." Hercules responded with.

John just smiled, too lost for words.

He was grateful for his friends.
